Default What does your low carb grocery list usually look like?

I'm trying to get more ideas on low carb foods to put some variation in my diet.

If its variation you're looking for, you might want to have a look here:

I find the best thing for me is to have lots of little snacks around. For me, that's things like string cheese, packets of hot peanuts, pepperoni, low carb yogurt (not for anyone on Induction) pickles, olives, homemade custards, etc.

My other big discovery on Atkins was breakfast. I never thought I was much of a breakfast person, my mom rarely cooked it and if you wanted breakfast, you ate cereal. But I now go through a dozen and a half eggs a week, (not all for breakfast.) and oh my gosh, how I love a nice frittata, or omelet or just a giant scramble with a little of everything thrown in.

I buy sandwich sized pepperoni from the deli, fresh chicken, pork, and beef. Sausage and Bacon. Produce - Bell or Chile Peppers to stuff, spinach to make salads and stuff into chicken breasts, mushrooms, leeks or green onions, strawberries, or plums. I do go through a lot of dairy (cheese, cream cheese, mayo, heavy cream) and I love the low carb tortilla wraps. Some of them are too "wheat" tasting, but there are a couple brands that are really good.

Anyway, that's my grocery cart. I go through a lot of meat, and shop for specials. Eating Atkins has definitely made me experiment more in the kitchen. You can only eat chicken or pork so many times before you get really bored with it. I'm turning into quite the little cook!

Default My low carb list.

Well I don't have a really strict list to follow, because my diet is not as restrictive as other plans. My doctor has come with a formula based on my particular needs versus a traditional low carb plan.

My favorite things are:

French toast (light oatmeal bread with Mrs. Butterworths sugar-free syrup)
1/2 of a sweet potato with butter and white pepper
Light English muffin pizza with chicken and broccoli
Mini-Cheese burger (1/2 packet of Lipton Onion soup mix, small can of mushroom stems and pieces minced mixed into a 1 pound mixture of ground beef/pork and chicken) I don't use any buns, just have it plain.
Low carb Lasagna
Low carb Baked Penne (similar to zitti without the extra carbs)
Low carb spaghetti pie
Low carb Chicken Cordon Blue (ham/broccoli/chicken mixed with low carb rotini and Alfredo sauce) Devilishly good!
Low carb mac and cheese

I have to order my low carb pasta from netrition.com, because it is the only place to get a better variety of the Dreamfield pasta.

These are just a few of the things that I make to break up the low carb hum drum. Hope this gives you few ideas to think about.
