Smile Just wondering

Well today I did my weekly grocery shopping. I was in the aisle with all the salad dressings and all the other condiments. Then I remembered that I ran out of mayo. Lately I’ve been doing this thing where every time I buy some kind of food in the grocery store I have to turn it around and read the label.. even if I already know the carb count. I didn’t realize that I had picked up the jar of low fat may until I read the label and I found out it had something like 2 g of carbs. My question is why does regular mayo have 0g of carbs while the low fat has 2g of carbs?

In replacing the fat, starchy thickeners and sweeteners are used.
