I've never read Atkins '72...but I remember my mother had it...and my oldest brother (who's 53 now) did it...he lost alot of weight, but then gained it back plus a bunch! I agree with you Jersey with that...I think Dr. Atkins may have fined tuned the original '72 version into a better one in his New Revoluation book. It makes perfect sense and works quite well without ever feeling hungry (to a detriment sometimes) and without feeling deprived...which sooo many diets fail at! It's the only diet I've ever tried where I could lose weight, retain muscle, do absolutely no exercise and look as if I did! Gotta love that! But, as I'm getting older (soon to be 41), I'm realizing that it really is not all about the way you look...it's more about the way you feel. I've always exercised to be skinny or "look good"...that's why I was sooo on/off about it! This time around I'm appreciating the endorphenes released into my body brought about by exercise...I'll looking forward to the adreneline rush that pumping iron gives me and I'm appreciating that deep sense of satisfaction and achievement working this bod into shape is giving me. So...I realize that it's not an overnight thing (actually most BB's I talk to tell me their transformation took a year or better!). But, I've mentally decided to take a year and transform the inner/outer me. Hope all my failures/accomplishments can inspire others and thereby keeping me inspired!
