I have a scale. If I didn't, who knows how much I would be eating? I swear, my ability to estimate is frighteningly bad.

Mine's just a cheapie digital scale, much like the ones described by others.

I prefer digital, although cheap digital is ok. The other kind tend to get off easily and are harder to read small amounts. I dont use it often, but just to recalibrate my eyes every once in a while, I dont want to get obsessy about weighing my food.

The nice thing about having a digital one is it is accurate enough for me to use to weigh mail to determine correct postage also - that comes in really handy! I never have to stick another stamp on "just in case"

I got one that goes up to ~ 5 lbs and dh uses it to weigh small packages for UPS shipping too. And he made fun of me when I bought a digital scale!

My digital scale is not doing ounces, it is stuck on grams. This might be my excuse to buy another one.
