stephie...Thank you for your input...it is important to me that I learn as best I can...that being said, I hate to think I perhaps didn't burn those calories I worked so hard at on the treadmill. I'm thinking I burned at least some :D
My W/I on Saturday showed a 3.6 loss

I will keep on keeping on though. I love watching the numbers change and take form.

I do want to ask though, what type workout would you consider counting as burning calories?? Please let me know, I'd appreiciate it.
I don't get too tangled up the the deficiet thing, because I honestly don't understand it....but I am SO enjoying counting and keeping track of calories IN!!

I love that everyone here is so willing to help....thank you all, and have a great day....
We, on the other hand, are in preparations for Ernesto.....i-ya-ya!!

I find that unfortunately I don't lose at all unless my calories are between 1100 - 1300. I guess it all depends on the person! Trial and error is the best way to go vs. using a generic calculator or chart IMO.

Mornin' All.....
D2S....I am one of those same people, having to keep my Calories low. ...I try staying at 1300 too. When I was counting WW pts at the range I was in...it capped at 1300 worth of calories in pts....so there is where I am (for now)
I had A LOT a calories yesterday...bad day :( "for me"...nearly 1800.
So today, I'll keep on keeping on.....and get a good workout in there too.
I am however, very much enjoying counting calories....
they do matter, and it's all about calories in and calories out FOR ME.
The deficiet thing I have not masterd yet, and guess I just don't quite get it.
I just subtract calories burned from my intake....getting that figure from an online activity burner....I just feel good that I get a good work out in....OH yeah, except for yesterday

I usually just use the calculator on fitday it nutridiary.com....Nutridiary has many more options that fitday does for workouts and I like it a lot better. SInce you are just starting out you may want to look over both.

Some people burn more calories then others do. For example, since you are only 124 lbs you burn less the I would doing the same exercise. If you walked for 40 minutes at 3 mph you would burn 124 calories (about your weight). I would burn 208 calories (about my weight of 207) and somebody that weighs 250 would burn twice as many calories as you would. Also, If I run 2.5 miles I would burn about the same amount of calories as if I walked 2.5 miles. It is just that it would take about twice as long for me to do it. I am not saying this is the case here as I am not sure how much L.J. weighs.

We can ALL do it!!!

 You can do it L.J.!

This is the first method EVER in my life that works (calorie counting) It is slowly but surely coming off... and I actually enjoy doing this because I feel like I am going towards something GOOD!!! Here's to everybody droppin' the pounds by countin' cals!!!! :hat:

Hey LJ - I would say to start with a good brisk walk is just the ticket. You should be working up a sweat. Maybe set goals for yourself to either go a little farther or a little faster each week? Luv_losing is right, everyone burns a different amount of calories because of how much energy it takes to move a larger body. When you feel ready, add some weight training so you will be toned when you get to goal. :D

Gina, thanks...I am adding more walking on my treadmill, and I work up a good healthy sweat...I have added more distance...and that does add to my calories burned.
Walking, even on the treadmill, is the ONE form of exercise I LOVE.
It's way too hot to walk outside here (SFla) for this Native New Yorker :D

Not a good day yesterday but a better one (so far) today!!
