I am just starting the calorie counting thing--I have tried pretty much everything else. Years ago I did WW and found an "My Journal Diary" that I used to record everything and am using it--it is small enough to carry in my purse so that I really do record EVERYTHING!! What do you use to record your daily info?
I have a program installed on my PDA where I can track my calories, exercise and weight, etc. I've had to tweak it a bit to get it to work how I like, but since I have my PDA with me anyway, it's nice to have everything in one place.
I use FitdayPC. When I'm away from the computer, I just use memory to keep track, then add it next time I'm at my desk. I suppose if it was an extended period, I'd make notes, but I'm pretty good about remembering what I ate during a day.
I use BalanceLog on my PC and on my PDA. I can enter info into either and then synchronize the data. I always have my PDA with me when I'm away from the computer so it make logging food intake virtually a no-brainer AND other people don't know what I'm doing. (I like my privacy.) LOL
I had a friend over a few weeks ago and she's doing LA Weightloss. She carries a little book like you're talking about - it's formatted to their plan style but I liked the idea of carrying something with me since I'm away from home 65 hours a week and often miss days from the computer. I loved the idea so I went to Barnes and Noble and found this http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/044...Fencoding=UTF8
Been using it ever since and LOVE it!
BTW, this is my first post and I'm not sure about posting that link. Please lmk if I it's not appropriate.
I buy small blank notebooks-small enough to fit into my purse since I travel a lot (A computer program would not work well for me due to this.), but large enough to put in my daily calories/food intake, as well as notes on water and exercise.
I fill out FitDay each night. It's easy for me because I eat pretty much the same thing every day. :-) Also, I find it really useful to plan ahead of time if I"m trying to hit a certain calorie number for the day.
I use Fitday--the online version, not PC--because I sit at a computer all day at work, so whether I'm at work or at home, I have easy access to it. I also plug in my foods in the morning for what I plan on eating all day, and then I go back and change it in the evening if I added something or didn't eat something.
