  • What app, site, calculator, or research helped you decide your daily allowance
  • You doing a great job.
  • My fitness pal! I love it. Even though I feel a little obsessive about it.
  • I love myfitnesspal too but I find too often puts everyone at 1200 a day
  • I use myfitnesspal as well, but really as a guide. If stay within 200 range of my allotted calories then I feel it is a win.
  • Learning my BMR and RMR helped more than anything else I came across. MFP helped, but once I learned my BMR and stuck to the numbers that provided me (minus the 500-1000 to lose weight), weight came off mcuh easier.
  • My fitness pal.

Although it tells me to eat 1210 calories a day..... then complains that I am not eating enough LOL.

I find if I stay between 1200 - 1500 I lose just fine. I'm also finding eating just 1200 calories a day is not hard. At first it was difficult, but now I've gotten kinda used to it.
  • I like My Fitness Pal for the ease of entering foods..It also told me to eat 1200 calories, but I felt for the safety of everyone around me, I should eat more I figured out my BMR and RMR and changed my calorie limits on MFP accordingly..When I actually use it, it works beautifully!!
  • Quote: but I felt for the safety of everyone around me, I should eat more ..When I actually use it, it works beautifully!!
    Lol, that cracked me up!
  • My BMR is 1350 so if I subtract 500....
I'm eating 1350 now, constantly hungry and NOT losing
  • Wanna b thats probably too low...try 1500 and eat more protein and fat than carbs...might help.

OP for me it was trial and error. If I eat much over 1500 cause of pcos I dont loose. I have mfp set to 1850 though cause thats what it says for my weight...also it allows for the occasional high days which is usually fridays.
  • I also use MFP.
I'm on 1260 but I'm ok with going over a little, only with exercise or if I feel low on energy though.
Now that I'm used to eating 1200, I find it hard to fill in the last couple of hundred calories some days, especially now that it's added the extra 60.
Those first few days I was a beast! Thank goodness my kids were in school and my husband was traveling.
  • I use FitDayPC. I have had it for years and years.

I never get tired of it; It works soooo well for me. When I use it diligently every day it has never failed to help me lose weight.
  • Lose it. Similar to MFP.....I adjusted my cal to maintain my weight loss. I stay around 1550 average a day but cycle from 1400-1700. I find if I go below 1400, I'm not happy.
  • I like to see the calorie calculator zigzag results from freedieting.

I track calories on MFP which syncs with my fitbit. I am a calorie counting/burning nerd.
