  • Wow! Everyone seems to like LoseIt My brother and my dad are using it. My brother just started, but my dad has had great success with it!

    Congrats to all losing weight!

I admire those of you who can put your food into an app and not go nuts. I tried it for two days and found I was obsessing over it too much so I went back to my usual method of keeping an estimate in my head.
  • I use lose it too and it was a little hard at first recording everything, but after a week or so it became second nature.
My setting are currently at 1.5 pounds a week. I am wondering where I should go down to 1 pound a week. My calories are at 1500 at this point without excersize. I am thinking when I hit 1400 I will readjust my settings.
  • My WW friends think I'm nuts for spending the time, logging EVERYTHING. Honestly, enough time has gone by, so that it's become routine, and not a hassle. I spend 1-2 minutes after my meals, it's not so hard! And seeing the effort actually working for a change, it's been more motivation to continue!

Way to go, everyone, you also motivate me, so thank you!
  • I've been using My Net Diary and it makes it so easy to track each day. I was super close to joining WW and while doing some research on reviews I came across some people who said it was silly to pay a company to tell you how to count calories. So I downloaded a free app on my phone to see if I could do it and I actually lost weight! I'm a little obsessive about the tracking but I just look at it like it's a game.
  • When I first tried to lose weight, I thought I knew all about eating right, and avoiding processed foods, eating more fresh produce, lean protein, whole grains, etc. I was also pretty active and worked out most days. Unfortunately, my clothes continued to get tighter despite my best efforts. It wasn't until Lose It and logging calories that I realized I was doing lots of mindless snacking that I didn't pay attention to, because it was just a few nibbles at a time, or my portions were way too big.

Seeing in black and white exactly how many calories I was allowed to take in and how many I needed to burn daily to lose a pound a week, and then seeing the exact date that I would be at my goal weight if I stayed on plan was like the ultimate carrot on a stick for me. It has motivated me like nothing else ever has. The first week I dropped like 4 pounds, and it was "off to the races".

I just tried on a pair of pants that I have never been able to wear because they ran small to begin with and I was in "size denial" when I bought them. They fit now, and I felt like Cinderella trying on the glass slipper. Counting calories and exercise works so great for me, and having an app that makes it so easy has made this almost effortless so far. I am beyond thrilled and have to restrain myself from preaching to everyone about how much I love my FitBit and Lose It tools!
