Happy Friday ladies!
I had a good OP week. It was a bit warmer this week, and I totally enjoyed the warmer temperatures, getting in my hour long walks every day. Although I only got in half an hour today (coincidentally the day it got colder again… hmm). I’ve been getting so cold lately that I really appreciated another week of warmish temperatures. I also started knitting again, and plan to make myself something warm + cozy (although honestly I’ve only ever finished 1 scarf, so I’m not exactly an advanced knitter) plus I’d love to be able to knit something cute for myself when I get to goal. My NSV: Really excited about this one! Last night in my BellyFit class we were doing the crunches where you have to touch your elbow to the opposite knee, and I could do them! Fairly easily, too! I’m so excited because last December/January, I tried those crunches and my knee and elbow were still a couple inches apart, so I really feel like I’ve gotten a lot fitter since I started exercising and doing a bit of pilates :D. Cwegher: Welcome! Scout: Congrats on skipping the treat today! Instead of a Friday treat, now you have a NSV Friday :) Tdi: Great NSV! It’s so awesome that you’re starting to feel more confident and less self-conscious! Phat: Aww  You’ve had a hard week, but it’s great that you’re sticking to your plan despite the fact that you’re not seeing the results immediately. I’m so proud of you for sticking with it, because that’s so much harder to do. But you are meeting your weekly goals, so hopefully that water weight will be gone soon – I know it always takes me forever to lose water weight. So just keep on with your plan and hopefully the water weight will be gone before you know it (and maybe it’ll take an extra pound or 2 along with it :)) You’re doing a great job! Jiggle: I’m glad you had a great anniversary (happy belated anniversary!), but sorry that you didn’t feel well. :( Congrats on maintaining those 6 fasting pounds! Great work! 124Chick: Welcome! Great goals! Northern: Hopefully your TOM will bring a nice whoosh with it (probably the only good thing about having a TOM…)! Farn: Clothing is definitely a big motivator for me – I’ve always been really girly and into fashion, but could never find those fashionable things in my size which really discouraged me. So fitting into clothes I like and feeling confident in them really motivates me to keep going. My other big motivator is that I’m only 23 but I’ve always been either overweight or obese and I’ve always been unhappy with my weight. And I just came to realize that I could work hard and get to a weight that makes me happy or I could spend the rest of my life being unhappy with a major part of myself. The thought that if I don’t try to lose weight, the years will still pass and I’ll still feel the same really pushes me to keep going. Hope everyone has a great weekend! |
SparkleBE-- It's in the high 50's here today and so nice! I know exactly what you mean about trying to take advantage of the weather. The good thing is that I like to walk in the cold so here's to a productive winter.
I did get in my walk this morning, and it was glorious. Beautiful fall day, I (still) feel exhilarated. And to think I considered not going-- the morning was really getting away from me, but I basically forced myself out the door. Put down the coffee, put on shoes, and just went. Now time to shower and get ready for a fun day. Hope everyone else is finding ways to meet their goals this weekend! |
This week has been a great week for me. I've lost 8 pounds (mostly "false" weight) this week and this morning I woke up to 210 on the scale. Made my goal for the week. I had 2 higher calorie days, but I don't think it impeded my progress. In fact, I'm kind of glad it happened since I took it in stride and did not allow myself to continue on the next day :)
The weekend is the hardest part and I'm struggling to not go to the store and get a bottle of wine. So far so good. I've done well today, although so far at the lower end of my calorie range since I have done nothing today. I'm hoping next week will be as good as this one! |
Checking in-- had a great no-count day yesterday, back to counting today. Made breakfast tacos and had some coffee, not sure what I'll eat the rest of the day. The tacos were 560, not a small amount of calories. Just going to play it by ear and will just make sure to record the calories. I have a pretty busy day ahead of me so I do need to be sure not to stop and pick up fast food or something really bad for me.

Happy Sunday!
Well, I defintely did better this girls' weekend than the last one. Friday I was right OP with calories. Yesterday was higher (had to guesstimate some, but I think around 1800-1900...an acceptable "maintenance" day) and today should be pretty normal. Need to so some exercise today to meet my 5 day/week goal since I didn't work out Friday or Saturday. I'm also probably a little bloated due to sodium from eating out, but I should have plenty of time to flush that out before my WI on Friday. Plus TOM will be over, so I'm hoping for good things! Sounds like most of us are doing pretty well, keep up the good work all! |
I'm looking forward to this work week's eating plan. The weekends are always weird; either I'm under eating or struggling to not over eat.
Wishing a super week ahead for y'all. Chick |
I took a running dive off the wagon yesterday. I had a thought about something I wanted to eat and I ate it and everything else in the kitchen. The only redemptive part of it if there is any is I did it all before 7pm. Not that before 7pm makes it any less horrific but it makes me feel better about it.
So no I'm having an extremely low calorie day today. I was thinking while I was doing it and my thought was I don't care, I've been working really hard and I just want some junk. I'm in a better place today and it should be better all the way around. I have two weeks to loose 4lbs...well after yesterday it may be 6lbs. Not sure but I got this!! |
Jiggle: I had one of those weekends too! But, you're doing the best thing by getting back up and moving on today! Also, you're not beating yourself up too badly. I hope you enjoyed your indulgence yesterday! Sometimes, we just need a break. Remember that we didn't gain all our weight overnight, so one bad day isn't going to break all you've done. It might detain you for a few days, but as long as you keep moving, you'll be just fine!
124: Thanks for the happy wishes! I hope you have a good week as well! Weekends are always tough for me. I always overeat! If you've read my posts to the others, I went way off plan Saturday and Sunday. Today I'm back in action! I did w3d1 of c25k! I also walked barefoot for .3 of a mile, that's not much but you have to build up over time. I have to say that it was quite exhilarating! Eating has been allright. I haven't really wanted to eat much. I'll be having some veggie soup later on with a side of veggies and fruit :D Oh, and I broke down and bought egg nog! I waited for the last 3-4 weeks that it's been out and caved yesterday. I'm keeping it together though! :D |
Hey ladies!
I was OP this weekend, but I decided to take an exercise break on Saturday and not go walking. I wasn’t feeling great and needed the break, but I was happy to get out and walk again on Sunday. Hope everyone’s having a great week so far! |
Hey guys!
I wasn't perfect last week (missed my 5 days/week exercise goal by one day...just got lazy on Sunday) but I did log every day and only had one higher calorie day on Saturday. This week I'm off to a decent start, about 1500 cals yesterday and my 2 mile WATP video. Hope everyone's week is going well so far! |
I having a good week so far. No excess and 1200 calories strictly...of course it's only Tuesday morning. I'm optimistic about this week anyway.
I want to see a new decade!!! WE CAN DO THIS!!! |
Northern -- Good job with staying OP while the girls were in town!!! Which WATP video do you have?? Do you have one in particular you enjoy more?? OR one that gives you a better WO (ie. makes you sweat more)??
Jiggle -- You are such a great example!!! Good job getting back on the wagon! I'm usually the one who will fall off one day and stay off, dragging my butt on the ground, creating more damage than needed!! As for me, I've been reasonably good/OP these last few days...i've been logging my food...went to the gym sat AND sun...then took my dogs for a walk last night bc it was like 74 here with a nice breeze. today i'm going straight to the gym from work and will do 40-45min of cardio :) I'm still using my Fitbit and LOVE IT! I can't report on it's accuracy yet bc I haven't had enough time of being completely ON PLAN since I got it...but I still love seeing the numbers! :) it keeps me motivated to get moving if my steps are low... Keep up the good work!!!! |
KDM: Great job on your exercise this weekend! I need to be better about that. I have two WATP vids. One is an old-school VHS that my MIL gave me when she was cleaning out her basement (lol) it's a 2-mile 30 minute one that also has some hand weight components. I really don't sweat much on that one, but it's kind of my "go to" when I want to do SOMETHING and I only have 1/2 hour and/or not a ton of motivation. My other one is a newer DVD, 3 mile walk with resistance bands. Also a "bonus" ab workout at the end. Takes about 50 minutes total. That one has some higher intensity "jogging" parts, so it's definitely the better WO of the two.
I'm slowly getting used to working out inside again...we had our first accumulating snow today, so I guess winter is here <sigh>. I much prefer to be outdoors, but even when it's not too cold (by MN standards at least, lol), the roads around my house are just too dangerous to walk on with the ice & snow and no shoulders. Jiggle & TDI: sounds like you guys are doing a GREAT job getting back on track! Sounds like everyone else is also off to a good start this week. Keep up the good work! Today I will end up at about 1450 calories. Think I will actually do my weights/yoga tonight. I have been taking advantage of being outside as much as possible up until this point, but really need to get back into my resistance training and toning. My cardio has been good, but I need to keep those muscles in shape too! |
There are a whole bunch of positive attitudes going on in this thread--I like it!
We get knocked down, but we get up again. Oh, those hits of the 90s! I was reminded of that song by VH1. One hit wonders. #1 was "Baby Got Back" -- and that extra cushioning gets treated as a desirable thing, so sometimes we are our own worst critics, ya know? tdiprincess--you do some of your walking barefooted? Whats that about? Did your feet get cold? ;) I've been having some insomnia lately, but tonight I'm just having some sinus trouble and can't really get comfortable ... but I'm tired. I'm sure I'll be sorry about this at work today, and my voice is sounding all funny and like a dude (how do I know this at 4:30 in the morning?) why, by talking to the dog, of course...lol Maybe I can try to avoid answering the phone at work...haha. So dietwise, I'm doing good and can't complain. For those of you struggling, I wish you peace and success, and those doing well, continued success. Chick |
Jiggle: Awesome work staying very strict!
KDM: Great work getting to the gym and exercising away!! The fitbit looks like a really neat toy! I agree that watching how many steps you've taken helps motivate you to get more in!! :D Northern: Great work yourself!! I'm sorry about the snow :( We haven't gotten snow here yet, but it's a matter of time. Probably by the end of this month or else early December. Fortunately, I live in the city where most people clear sidewalks and the streets are plowed, so I can at least do a bit outside if it's not too cold. 124: The barefoot thing LOL is a lot of fun I must say! Recently I purchased these: Vibram FiveFingers. They're pretty cool! To transition into them a lot of sites recommend doing a bit of work barefoot in order to help you recognize when you've done too much with your feet. The other day it was 60 degrees here, so the ground wasn't too cold. I probably won't do that too much more until the spring time, but I just wanted to see what it was like. I have to say it was very enjoyable! Today I'm planning on taking my fivefingers out with me on my jog. I will update more later, gotta go! |
