Well, I've been having major cravings issues the past week or so (I just finished with a BAD stressful time where I could barely eat anything at all, so that might be part of it). I've had similar periods of time before.

But I decided today to count how many cravings I got. In a span of 7 hours, I had about 26 individual times where I craved food. Sometimes up to 6 times in an hour. They were all light to medium strong cravings, but still not pleasant. Some of them were spaced as little as 5 minutes apart, and some lasted longer than 1/2 hour.

I knew it was bad, but I didn't know it was SO frequent. I'm hoping this knowledge will help me resist.

So, today, I resisted eating food (when I wasn't hungry) more than 26 times. Hurrah for me. Now if only I didn't HAVE the cravings...

I wanted ice cream last night. badly. I settled for the rest of the caesar salad instead. half hour later, craving was gone and I felt fine.

I resisted the crunchy snack toast on my mom's counter. I picked it up and put it back down. Yay!

my daughter has a birthday party coming up in a week.

the house is FULL of candies, chocolates, etc.

it's a good thing that a) i am not a chocolate kinda person and b) i have a lot of strawberries at my disposal.

I said “No” to an Edward Cheese Cake, 1/8 of the cake is like 450 calories. It feels good to be in control!!!!! It's like poison food to me now.

Irish Cream Coffee Bars with whipped cream/butter frosting! One of the guys I work with always brings really fattening baked goods into work, his wife makes gooey butter cake, cookies, and today it was irish cream coffee bars. I haven't had one, but I do keep lifting the lid and smelling them!

I did something similar tonight. I was eating pasta and tomato sauce, and realized I wasn't enjoying it so I threw it out when I was half done. (I knew I'd keep eating it otherwise.)

i resisted stopping for a snack or drive thru on the way home from kayaking today. i also resisted the urge to stop my work out early.

Pizza and brownies. The rents got pizza for dinner, and my sibling made brownies. Haven't had either.

Pizza Hut. I work there as a waitress, and on the slow nights, it's really really really hard to not make something to eat and munch away. Last night was pretty slow, and the pizza smelled good. I actually really dislike the food after working there 3.5 years, and I usually feel disgusting after eating it, but time after time, I always do.

The big problem is that there is almost nothing to eat there that can be considered good for you. Basically, just the salad bar, and it has gotten really old really fast. I often bring food in to eat, but I often also give into cravings for the food at the restaurant.

Well, last night I said no to Pizza Hut food, and made a salad using the light salad dressing I brought, and I stayed on track. I think I really need to start packing better dinners. Usually I take a sandwich or something. If I bring something more appetizing, maybe it will be easier to say no.
