Default Goodbye Mayo, I don't miss you!

Woohoo! I am so happy and proud of myself. I am a mayo addict! I never in a million years thought I could eat a sandwhich with out it. Or cheese, for that matter. Well today I decided I would try to eat a sandwhich with no cheese or mayo (to reduce calories).

I made it with:
2 slices sara lee 45 cal bread = 90
6 slices turkey = 45
slice of heirloom tomato = 5
1 tsp mustard = 0
1 tbp dill relish = 0
a bit of iceburg lettuce = 0

And it was AMAZING! I think I have finally broken my mayo addiction! I can't believe it was only 140 calories
Amazing how much cheese and full fat mayo can add to just a sandwich.

congrats!! I never thought I would like mustard instead of mayo but once I tried it, it's pretty good! and I think it's key to add the tomato (heirloom, nice!) and lettuce and any other veggies. WTG! a big sandwich for not that many calories.

Smile Awesome

Great job! The other day I was at Jimmy Johns (sandwhich restaurant) and the calorie counter there said that the sandwhich I was about to consume was almost 700 calories! Wheat bread and nothing but veggies. I about had a heat attack. Well turns out 220 of it was JUST MAYO. Never. Again.

Congrats and good luck on your journey

It WAS a big sandwhich! It was planned as my dinner but I didn't even realise it was only going to be 140 cals. I added on some greek yogurt to make my dinner 280

And my tomato was fresh from the local farmers market-- picked just this morning. It makes any meal that much better knowing I am eating locally grown organic produce!

I love Jimmy Johns - typically I get the #1 Pepe's with no mayo (420 calories). Sometimes I'll add hot peppers for about 20 more calories, or take it home and put sriracha sauce on it. I've been eating JJs every few days for the past few months..

They have a really good online nutrition calculator if you want to try out different combinations to see the calories. They also offer "lettuce wraps" instead of bread which takes it down a ton, but I tend to find the bread more satisfying so I just stick to my Pepe's.
