How much do I count for this???

  • My husband made dinner, which was nice to cone home to, but he used four tablespoons of country crock original (70 calories per tbsp) on the veggies he grilled! And since he used a regular spoon instead of a measuring spoon, I'd estimate it at 6 tbsps in reality. It drives me crazy that he did this, but that's beside the point. There were 8 cups of veggies. I ate 2/3 c. How much of the calories from the butter should I count? I'm probably making this harder than it needs to be, but just want to be sure. Thanks!
  • I would say 80-100 calories to be on the safe side. Give hubby a pat on the wrist!
  • That's sort of what I was thinking, around 100 calories. I could just beat him! When I prep the veggies for the grill, I use one tbsp max of lower calorie spread, but he didn't bother to look for it or measure. Glad I had the calories for it today! Thanks for answering
  • I did the math and I came up with 35 calories.

    Total calories from butter: 6*70 = 420
Portion of veggies you ate: 2/3 cup/8 cup = 0.08333
    420*0.08333=35

    (I'm geeky like that)
  • Agreed on the Math portion--however, when counting calories I always err on the side of CAUTION!

We also had grilled veggies tonight. I use the Fat-Free Olive Oil cooking spray and salt and pepper..they are FAB!!!
  • Thanks zoodoo! I like to err on the side of caution too, but it makes me feel better that the math backed it up!

Thighs, I have also recently tried the I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray and really like it!
