  • yeah we have everything here, refrigerators, microwaves, grills, toasters, etc.. You would think with all these amenities I'd come up with something..

we have a salad bar here, fruit bar in the morning, there's an entree station that has food, a grill where you can get burgers, & tons of vending machines. I just dont want to get in the habit of buying food here because it gets expensive buying food for home & at work..

I love the leftovers thing, problem is after my brother & my fiancee, there arent hardly ever any leftovers Left Over. LOL... wraps sound like a good switch up.. I dont need to have a huge meal for lunch because it will just make me groggy & sleepy too lol

thanks everyon e for the ideas, keep them coming!
  • Quote: I freeze the other 1/2 to use in a smoothie. You could also use the frozen 1/2 in this recipe for another day.
Thanks! That's a great idea! No more half fruits in my garbage!
  • I used to buy a big bag of tyson frozen chicken breasts (100 cals each), microwave one, chop it up, and roll it up in a pita with barbecue sauce and a ton of veggies. Then, I'll usually have a cup of low cal yogurt or a handful of nuts. The whole things runs about 300-350 cals, and it's REALLY satisfying .
  • I had a couple more ideas; There's instant containers of couscous at my supermarket that taste really delicious. You could also do any kind of stir-fry (and pair it with whatever noodles/rice you want). I've also noticed, personally, that I'm much more satisfied with what I eat when it's visually appealing, so recently at home I've been eating fruit skewers for dessert or colorful grilled vegetable skewers.

You can also try slicing a yam very thinly, placing those slices on a paper towel and then microwaving them for a couple minutes until firm. These are very delicious chip substitutes that you can season with any flavor you want.

Sometimes I make tuna salad out of canned tuna, tomato and onion with low calorie dressing. It's still technically salad but it's more interesting sometimes to leave out the lettuce.
