Banking Calories What Do You Think

  • I have already read the cheat meal thread, But

This is just a thought. Going out to dinner next week so I will have a meal off plan. I was considering banking some calories away so I won't be so hard hit, and can enjoy myself. It would be easy to go a little lower during the week.

Any thoughts? Have any of you all done this? Chime in
  • I do it all the time! I didn't do it while I was in the losing stage of the game, though I don't think it's a bad idea early on. I just chose not to because I didn't trust myself.

I "diet" all week long so I can have higher calorie meals on weekends. If I'm not under 140 by saturday I don't, but if I'm 139.8 (or under)...let 'er rip!
  • Lori Thanks for replying. Yea normally I wont do it either, but since I have advance warning I figured that hey why not. I have been at goal so many times and cant wait to get back there and stay this time. So this time I am really concentrating on how to handle the situations as they arise.
  • Years ago, I did weight watchers and worked out 6 days a week and lost weight very fast and rapid (not always pounds but inches). So, at one point, I would start having one cheat meal a week. Usually something decadent from Red Lobster or a steak house. I did not hold back in any way before this meal and after this one meal, I returned to my normal lower calorie way of eating and still lost weight. I know in Jackie Warners book, you are allowed to cheat on the weekend, but your cheat can not be more than 1500 calorie and the thread I read, people are losing weight.
  • Totally! As long as you aren't making yourself hungry by saving those extra cals, totally go for it! That's a really good idea.
