Default I don't get it.....

I guess I should not complain, I mean, the inches on the tape measure are moving, but I don't understand. I have lost half an inch off my thighs, but I have GAINED 2 pounds. I have not worked out that much (too darn cold to get out to the gym...I mean...YIKES! Below zero and stuff) some yoga, which I love, other than that I have not worked out.

I don't get it........how does that happen??? Does anyone know? or is it one of those great mysteries we will never know, but don't *****, the inches are moving?

fat takes up more room than muscle, and since the muscle is denser you could gain weight while losing inches (like replacing a pillow with a brick.)

Seagirl - what a great visual! Now I'm thinking about getting rid of my pillow tummy and replacing it with a brick six-pak!

Your body composition is changing. Remember, you want to lose fat, not just weight. It sounds like you're losing that fat! You should be happy.

The two Lb. gain may be water gain. I keep a weight- calorie journal and I am constantly looking over it- On those day's I see a 1 or 2 Lb. gain I just know I did not gain 2 Lbs. in fat over night. I exercise and watch my calories. But there are day's the weight will go up. I have learned not to get upset when this happens- it will come back off again.
Just remember to eat lots of fruit and veggies and drink lots of water- and it will all be good.

Pee, poo, water retention from too much sodium or TOM... eventually you get to know your range and just ignore that daily flux thing.

Don't worry about it.

Inches are awesome.... Im sure part of your journey includes looking and feeling better, no just getting a lower number on the scale.... You already know you are looking better if you are tightening up and losing inches. Do you feel better? If so its all a move to the positive, celebrate your nsv!
