I use "my fitness pal" (one word but for some reason i can't post it?)to track my calories. When you exercise they factor in those burned calories but i don't always eat them...the site is easy to navigate through and has a huge food data base

I have tried most of the free trackers (especially sparkpeople and ************) and weight watchers to track points, but the best tracker i've found is My Plate on livestrong.com. Sparkpeople was too cumbersome for me. Even if I searched with the exact name it would always put generic or unrelated results at the time and then I would have to scroll down. Or if I searched using the "exact results" button, it would limit my search results too much.
With My Plate, it is similar to Google Instant where the search results pop up below in a little drop down box while you search making it super, super easy to find what you need and add more detail to narrow down your search. I've been able to find everything I've searched for so far! I love the interface- it's slick and attractive- and easy to edit your items if you want to increase your serving size or move to another meal.
I too tried spark people and found it way too complicated and time consuming. I have used WW in the past too but it's $17 a month and I am trying to save a little bit of green.
I have tried a lot of online calorie counters and what works best and is easiest for me is to just keep a journal (in paper form that is). It just takes me forever to enter everything when I have to go online to do it. I just keep it in the kitchen and write it down as soon as I eat it.
