Default Let's talk beer...

Ok, for those of you who occasionally imbibe in a beer or two...what's your favorite? I tend to like darker beers or imports, so I am looking for a few suggestions as to what's a good lite beer.

When you say lite do you mean low cal or lite colored?

I personally like a good Guinness, lower cal compared to a lot of the other beers. Stouts and darker beers often are in my experience. I also like Beck, Rolling Rock light, Bass, Killian's. I target 125-165 cals in a beer, or as close as I can to that I guess. Some don't have posted info so I have to guess.

The company that makes Fat Tire (New Belgium Brewing Company) has a seasonal summer beer that they don't advertise as "light"...Skinny Dip! It's 110 calories a bottle and actually has, you know, flavor. I love it.

I loooove Budweiser Select, but since I am watching my calories now, I started drinking (when I do drink which isn't very often) Budweiser Select 55..it's not as good as regular select but it only has 55 calories

I am usually a darker-beer drinker, but on a hot summer day I've been known to enjoy a Corona. I've had a Corona Light once or twice, and it's not too bad. 105 calories (as opposed to 150 in a regular Corona).

I've cut down so much on drinking in general, though, that I generally just have the beer I want. Better to enjoy one good beer than drink a yucky one or two that I don't really like. I had a delicious Anchor Steam the other night. 150 calories and worth every one of them.

A nice plus is since I've cut back so much, when I do drink, just one is enough to relax, and two is plenty! Three is more than plenty.

I love Skinny Dip!

I don't drink a lot of beer these days, but have had several a week lately. It's hot as heck here, and there's nothing that says "ahhhh" after coming in from yardwork like an ice cold beer. We stumbled upon Skinny Dip recently and it's a new fav.

I drink a lot of McAuslan,a local brewer, they support a lot of the arts in this city. I also love Smithwicks.
