Default Diet Soda

I know that soda isnt good for you at all, but I was wondering if anyone still drinks soda while trying to lose weight??

I am very addicted to Diet Pepsi and have cut back to just 1 a day, and I was just wondering if that would have any effect on my wieght loss??

TIA!!

I drink it. I only have one a day, the rest is water. I'm not sure if it could affect your loss but whatever you do, good luck to you!

I still drink diet soda. I try not to have one every day, but I weigh out my options here and I've decided that having a diet soda every other day or so is better than eating a bag of candy or chips. I've still lost weight.

Diet soda can affect weight loss in 2 different ways.

1. Having something sweet (even though it's artificial sweetener) makes you crave more sweetness. So after having a diet soda, you're more likely to want other sweet things throughout the day, which could derail your weight loss.

2. Cafeine can hinder weight loss in some people. But it doesn't in everyone. So I don't know whether it affects you or not.

All that being said... I am a diet soda addict! Check out my blog post about that exact subject: http://my-body-in-motion.blogspot.co...vice-soda.html

I've never tried to limit it at all, though lately I have been drinking almost all crystal light instead. Honestly, I went from drinking 4-5 diet sodas a day to half a gallon of crystal light a day and saw no changes at all. Other people have stronger reactions to it.

There are so many things we HAVE to give up to lose weight that I am not in favor of giving anything up "just in case". Go 3 weeks without soda and see if it makes a difference in how you feel. If it doesn't, go back to it without guilt.

I'll have a soda maybe twice a month? But since I do it so rarely, I just drink the regular stuff (oh, Dr Pepper. Be still my beating heart!) when I do.

I have it maybe once a week. Only when I feel like it. Now that I'm counting my calories again I have it in place of the regular stuff. I love the taste of diet, so I don't mind the switch. I rarely have pop often anyways.

I have one or two a day, but I also drink a lot of water. I've lost 50 lbs, so I guess it's doable!

I drink it too! One Coke Zero a day at lunch at work for sure. Sometimes one after work ... I just bought 3 different flavors of diet rite to try for after work to try to limit the caffeine later in the day and for something fruity flavored and sweet ... I don't think it makes me crave other sweet things ... but sometimes if I crave something sweet I'll grab one of those!

I know diet soda is full of scary chemicals and no one should consume it. In a perfect world, that is. And I know it can supposedly hinder weight loss, but I drank tons of diet mountain dew while I was losing 110 pounds (and I didn't regain because of diet soda -- I regained because of eating too much during pregnancy!) I still drink it, though I don't get the caffeinated kind (still nursing, and now that I've kicked the caffeine habit for two years I don't plan to go back). Diet soda is like processed foods -- not a good idea for our health, but we can still have them and lose weight.

I have lost over 110 pounds by drinking it. But a few weeks ago I was stuck on a plateau fro 3 weeks...so i cut back to one can per day and increased my water. Within 6 days i had lost 3 kilos (6.6 pounds) and 13 centimetres (5.1 inches) from my waist...so I dont think initially it does hinder but I think it gets to a point where I at least needed to look at my consumption
