Hi

  • Hi, I decided to visit here once again...this forum helped me lose 70lbs before, sadly I gained it all back when I got married, and then some more when I got pregnant. I never realized what a health hazard my husband was to me. He is very unsupportive of diets because I never seem to stick with them in the long run and he sees it as just another expense. I started going to the gym and working out regularly last September but never saw more than a 10lb loss and I know part of it was because I was nursing my daughter, but the other part was my diet. This time I'm going to do it right with diet AND exercise. I MUST lose this weight, for my health and the health of daughter. I don't give a crap what I look like anymore, I just want to FEEL good...having energy and being able to keep up with a 1 year old...I want life to be fun for her, I don't want her having a fat lazy mom that can't keep up...and most of all I don't want her to be like this, I want to be a positive example for her. Monday is my start date...until then I will be collecting recipes and food ideas and planning this whole thing, because if I fail to plan then I plan to fail, right? I am gonna go to a WW meeting this weekend, I don't plan on doing the points thing but the motivation will be great to help kickstart me. Anyways...any words of encouragment or motivation is greatly appreciated
  • Why wait until Monday? Assuming a 1000 calorie a day deficit, that's a pound lost between now an Monday.

I'm pulling for you and know you will do great
  • Well I need to go shopping, and have a plan at the store...I am already eating healthier but don't have the funds to go to the store again until then...so for right now I am finishing off what we have in the house. So far I've had a 90 cal pack of chocolate granola bites, a turkey and pepperjack sandwich, and some carrots and celery. So I'm doing BETTER. but don't have what I need to cook healthier, if that makes sense?
  • Makes perfect sense to me.
  • Planning is absolutely essential. Also, Finding a way to eat that you can always 'live' with....not just lose weight with, too.

Many folks like Weight Watchers. I think they even have a Weight Watchers forum here at 3fc. I wish you well in your journey.
  • Welcome and good luck!

Everyone is so supportive around here, it's made a world of difference for me
  • I agree, try to work your plan in to what you already have, if you don't have time to go shopping for new food, just half what you would normally eat of the food you have on hand? I lost 40 lbs just halfing my normal portions. You can do it! Don't be too hard on yourself and take baby steps. I've spent SOOO much money on fad diets in the past and I didn't start to GET it till I started Weight Watchers and calorie counting. Those are the only plans that really work with the lifestyle that I already have. Pulling for you! WW is a great plan, BTW, hope the meeting helps.
  • Good Luck!!!! As far as the husband try to leave him out of your weight loss dicussions and goals if he is not willing to be supportive. If you really want to do this it has to be about you and no one else, otherwise its likely to fail. Hopefully in time when he sees you are motivated to make permanent changes he will come around and be a great cheer leader for you. Good luck with your plan!
