Mkyice- sounds like a bad burn! Last summer I got a second degree burn right on my lower back- was so painful to even sit down for a week! Not to mention I still have a lasting "tan" from it. Heh, I'll be out in the sun all day...spf 100!!!

Shylah- Good choice to keep going! Glad to hear that your shoulder wasn't bothering you. And about the belly flab- just think what'll look like after you push through!

Sugarrox- I LOVE the skinny cow ice cream sandwiches. Got a box in my freezer right now. Is that what you got? I have a sweet tooth, so they're not too sweet for me, haha!

Jiggle- Glad to hear your daughter is doing okay! And it's great you're sticking on plan and feeling so positive with the added stress.

KDM- THANKS! And I did say no to the treats! Completely ignored them, and didn't have a desire for them. It helped that I had had a bowl of cereal beforehand, haha. Congrats on the 160's! And wow on the packing- I couldn't ever do that well, haha.

Farn- Thanks for the encouragement! Looks like we're all kicking butt.

As for me...as I said, yesterday I did beat the treats. Ignored them completely. I stuck very well with my calories and even went for a long walk in the 90 degree weather despite being exhausted from my am workout. Just got done with my workout for today and am about to lather up the sunscreen and head outdoors for the rest of the day. I'm feeling very good about reaching my goal!

Good day everyone. Well, still home with the baby. When I took her to the daycare they asked if the dr said she was no longer contagious. I said I don't have it so I guess not. They told me I needed to take her to the dr and get his release. Since I have good health insurance I did it. He said nope. Keep her home til Monday because as long as she is still runny it's contagious. So we're home again. But the cool thing is I don't go back to work til nest Tuesday. I have plenty of sick time so it's all good. I'm still on plan and working out. Waiting on her to take her nap so I can shred.
Shylah - I understand the flapping. It gets better because it starts to disappear. I keep looking at my stomach and am amazed that the rolls are really leaving. So keep going!! In a while you won't need the extra support...REALLY!! The collar bones are there trust me. I am starting to see neck muscles...NEVER was I expecting that. It's surreal.
Corinne - That's how I got past the cookies that were at work everyday for two weeks. Good Job on saying no and eating cereal beforehand!! Do what you gotta do to get where you are going!!!
KDM - You are inspiring me to keep going. You are doing the dog gone thang!!
Lori - Facebook is very addictive. I love it because I found a lot of people I knew in High School. Seeing how old people are looking is wild.
Sugar - A month of uninterrupted honey time!!! YAY!!!!

I will say I was a little disappointed about having to stay home today because I was so cute. But Tuesday will be another cute day!!

jdonato 05-26-2010 11:25 AM

Good afternoon ladies!

So i've gained a few lbs 3.4 to be exact in the past few days, mainly because TOM is 2 1/2 weeks early! That's from the stresss of everything, and i've been relaxin and pigging out a lil so now i'm back on track today. I had a talk with the bf last night about taking the rest of the left over cookies and brownies and just throwing them out! I"m getting rid of the wine in the fridge too. I hate to waste food but we don't know anyone who will take it and I'm not going to sabbatage everything i've worked for. Oh and i'm getting back to CC in my journal...i got away from that too during graduation and the party. I may have puffed in in lbs but in inches i'm still the same so that's good and tells me it's water weight.

jiggle: It's nice you have great health insurance and hope your little one gets better so she can go back to daycare. Oh and I hear about this shred...what workout is it? I've been meaning to find something new to get those last few places.

Corinne: awesome job on not giving in and the walk too in 90 degrees! Way to stay OP!

ShylahEQ: I love it so much with your last comment about your stomach jiggling but no flapping...i know what you mean. I'm at the jiggling phase. You wouldn't tell from pictures but being apple shaped I can hide my stomach very well and I can't tell if it's excess skin or fat hanging down. Keep up the good work and sweating!;)

KDM: you look amazing! Love the pic, I saw the befores and looking at you now your so tiny! I bet everyone noticed when they saw you. I'm not working in my field just yet...i'm trying to apply for jobs in engineering. I want to pass that clep so my diploma comes in sooner, which helps for employers to see proof right away. I'll get all my resume and coverletter ready so I can send out right away. I'm currently working in retail, which is what I've been doing putting me through school.

Lori: Hope everything is well with the doc. appts. And facebook will get more addicting once you start the quizes! lol...

Sorry to everyone else, I have to get to clearing out my kitchen and studying for my CLEP...and thanks guys for you comments and support. It means alot! Have a great day and lets keep OP!

aluxa 05-26-2010 12:25 PM

I’m here to say hi!!
Susieyarb: :congrat: for your swimsuit!!!

Jdonato: I’m still one pound away, this weekend was a disaster one for me.

Jiggle: I hope your baby get well soon!!

KDM: :balloons: you look great!!!

Shan: :congrat: for the new job!!!

susieyarb 05-26-2010 04:28 PM

Hey gang!

Well, my baby boy is still sick, so I've not been online much. He's been really clingy.

I took him to the doctor again yesterday and I stopped by Cato on the way home and got a new dress! It's size MEDIUM!! It's the black/white/turquoise one. I'll wear it on our cruise next month. Did I mention it is a size Medium!!!

I am pleasantly surprised with Level Two of 30DS! I kind of like it! The oblique twists are the hardest thing for me. I think I'll stick to my plan of doing Level 2 for 5 days, then I'm going to do Level 3 for 5 days then repeat for the last 10 days.

I have a theory, though, about 30DS. I think it's impossible to lose weight doing it! I'm still at 189.2 as of yesterday morning. I did start TOM today, though. So maybe I can weigh in Monday and PRAY for a loss! I hate that I made my goal and then lost it! If I were to advise people beginning 30DS, I'd say "weigh right before you begin and then don't weigh again for the entire 30 days!" I've stayed OP with my calories all the while doing 30DS, so there is no reason I shouldn't be losing other than TOM.

I'm sorry I haven't had much time to do personals lately.

Nicole, you and I are at the exact same place height and weight wise!

KDM322 05-26-2010 06:50 PM

Shylah--Good Job starting 30DS again! I sweat a TON also...when I do 30DS, I sweat in places I didn't know sweated! haha Like my shins! haha

Corinne--CONGRATS on saying NO and walkin in the severe heat! You Go Girl!

Jiggle--Sorry to hear the little one is still sick!! But atleast you getta stay home from work :) Hope she feels better soon.

Jdon--Thanks!! And I'm sure you gain was ALL water weight!! It'll come right back off!! GOOD JOB gettin back OP! BTW, Shredding is Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred...It's an awesome WO! You should check it out! There's quite a few of us doin it these days :D

Aluxa--THANKS!! And we all have disaster days...don't fret it too much...You'll get right back on track and lose it no time!

Susie--Sorry your baby is still sick!! Hope he gets better soon! Glad you like L2...I HATED IT!! haha I like your idea of mixing up the levels and not stayin on one for 10 days...I'm not quite sure how I'll do it once I finish my 30 days...I've been thinking about doing each level 3 consecutive days and then a day of rest and repeat, with cardio each of those days also?!?!? I dunno for sure tho...As for losing weight during, I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU! But I read some reviews of the WO on Amazon and many people said they didn't lose alot of weight, but they lost more in inches...so I'm really anxious to see my measurements when I'm done! 6more WO's and I'll measure...I may end with a total WL of 2-3lbs...but I'm gaining muscle...I can feel it in my legs & arms! :D Even tho there's a little bit of cardio in the WO, IMHO I feel this is more of a strength training WO...

AS FOR ME.....IT'S OFFICIAL!! I'M IN A NEW DECADE!!! Weighed today at 169.4 and I had just over 1100 calories yesterday...I did 30DS L3D4 yesterday afternoon plus 5miles on the recumbent last night...I was doing so good until DH decided to take me out to lunch today! haha But hopefully I'll just have a very light dinner and see how close I come to my daily cal. limit...

HAPPY HUMP DAY!

shan84 05-26-2010 07:12 PM

Feeling a little discouraged today ladies. I weigh in daily, but only officially keep track of it once a week. Yesterday my calories were between 1700-1900 and I worked out for one hour with my personal trainer. Stepped on the scale today and I am up 2lbs. What the heck? So tired of the scale going up! It's supposed to be going down. Grrr.

susieyarb 05-26-2010 09:47 PM

Krista: Yay! The 160's!!! Oh, I can't wait till that day comes for me!! I'll be about done then!

Shan
: I'm sorry you had an upward move on the scale. Could you be working out so hard you need a tiny bit more calories? It's the pits when that happens.

ricepapr 05-27-2010 03:07 AM

This challenge has been a bummer for me so I've been avoiding this thread. I was really hoping to intensify my workouts and introduce more strength training since most of what I do is cardio, but I got a bad respiratory infection and had to rest for a several weeks. I tried exercising a few times, but my symptoms would just get worse so I really had to cut it out.

Anyway, I inadvertently adjusted my plan to account for the lack of exercise by being miserable and not wanting to eat much so I still lost and it's staying off. I think I was averaging 1300 a day.

I do have to thank my brother though. He kept making me healthy meals when all I wanted to do was take a bunch of pills and sleep. Every time I got on the scale I expected to be disappointed and I'm pretty relieved, tbh--even though getting sick isn't an ideal way to lose. I might end up only 1.5 pounds short of goal.

I hope everyone else is having an excellent time and I'm cheering you all on.

ShylahEQ 05-27-2010 08:28 AM

KDM - 160's woohoo! I can't even imagine being there :p

Shan - sorry for the gain, have you been gaining steadily over the week? is TOM coming? I've gained 4 lbs over night just from sodium, it kills me even though I know it's just water.

Rice - I hope you are feeling better soon. Keep up on the healthy eating, it will stick!!

Day 3 - 30DS done. Loving it so much. I love the sweat! I have to keep a towel around because it is running down my face and into my eyes. Weird thing to like, I know. lol I am thinking I'll do this for 30 days or when it's too easy, whatever comes first. Then I'll move on to lvl 2 for 30 days etc.

I'm amazed I'm not sore. My knees take a beating, but I feel great otherwise.

CorinneIrene 05-27-2010 09:18 AM

Shylah- I get it about loving the sweat- makes you really feel what you're doing! I have hyperhydrosis so I tend to sweat a lot anyways, haha, but it's satisfying when it's coming from hard work. Good luck with 30ds!

Ricepapr- Sorry to hear you've been sick. Hopefully you'll stay healthy! That's awesome about your brother- wish mine would do that for me!

Shan- Maybe it's muscle? Or TOM? Either way, it's just a little bump in the road. Be proud of the work you did.

KDM- Congrats on the new decade! Seriously, it always feel so good. Great accomplishment. And thanks!

Susie- Congrats on the mediums! I've just bought a bunch of new clothes and made myself buy them all in mediums- hopefully I'll fit in them this summer. Hope your son is doing well!

Jdonato- I hear you on the TOM. Mother nature can be so cruel. And thank you! Good luck with studying!

Jiggle- Aw, poor girl- good thing she's getting better though! Congrats on staying on plan!! And thank you!

Woo! I'm down to 141.4! Only .4 to my Memorial Day goal!

It's that TOM for me and yesterday was tough, but I made it through. I had to lay in bed for an hour after I woke up to deal with my cramping (and had frequently woken up during the night because of it) so I was worried that I would have a bad day. But, I forced myself to work out and got up and active. I push mowed for about an hour and a half- it was killer. Normally I can get all the push mowing down in 3 hours, but I could only stand to do half of it. The high was 94 yesterday and I was pouring sweat while doing it! Then I went to a local nursery to pick up some hanging baskets and a few more flowers for my garden.

I resisted going for ice cream with my mother but did accompany her up on her property to do some "archaeology" in a very old house foundation that we've been clearing out. Then, came back and planted two rows of spinach, 8 tomatoes (in addition to the four I have) and watered all of the other crops. I still have a LOT more to get in the ground, veggie and flower wise! That'll be the goal for today, haha.

I woke up and immediately did my exercising and am now enjoying breakfast and coffee. Then, out to water plants.

Whew, I always write too much!

babenwaiting 05-27-2010 09:40 AM

Hello again ladies ... :) After joining your thread a week ago, I've been waylaid by migraines and not able to read all your posts as I would like ... but just glancing over them, I want to congratulate those of you who are reaching new goals, and encourage anyone having difficulty to "keep on keeping on." That scale WILL drop ... sometimes it's just a bit stubborn.

For myself, after one week with you girls, I have dropped three pounds which I know is mostly water, but that's okay! I'm going in the right direction now. I stayed with my program all but one day ... I confess that I did go more like 2100 that day, rather than my planned 1800 but I forgave myself 'cause I didn't feel well. Thanks for all your encouragement ... I appreciate it! :flow2:

I hope you will all have a great holiday weekend ... I'm afraid the outdoor pool water at our YMCA is going to be too chilly to get in but I can always go sit in the sun for a bit! Have fun, girls, whatever you do! :)

Fitin10 05-27-2010 10:32 AM

jdonato: Sounds like you have a good plan to get back on track, good luck!

susieyarb: Congrats on the Medium dress, awesome!!!! DOn't give up on 30DS, I'm sure you'll see some results soon.

KDM322: Congrats on the 160's!!! Such a big milestone, keep it up!!!!

shan84: Try not to stress, if you worked out with a PT yesterday it is verylikely your muscles are swollen and having fluid retention. Give it a day or two, up your water and I'm sure it will fall right off!

ricepapr: Hope you feel better soon, but good for you for not getting derailed.

CorinneIrene: .4 away, you cna do it! :carrot:

babenwaiting: Keep it up you are doing great!

I'm holding steady at 169 this week. I would have liked a loss, but I'll take not moving up after the horrible weekend I had. I'm finally able to eat solid foods again, so I'm hoping to loose a pound or so by the end of the challenge. I've already met my challenge goal, so now its just about getting further away from 170 :p

Hope you all have a fantastic day!

SugarRox 05-27-2010 10:54 AM

Good Morning Ladies!!!!

Im in an awful mood this morning. I HATE my cell phone. DH is in route to coming home. I have no idea where he is though, and I havent spoken to him since Tuesday morning. He said he would call as soon as he got the opportuniy. Well, the opportunity was at 4:00am this morning, my time. BUT, my stupid phone never rang. At 4:00am the phone beeped showing a voicemail, within the next 15mins I got 2 more voicemails from DH. All he said though was "Im trying to call, but I keep getting your voicemail, I will keep trying". So, I got up and sat in the kitchen holding the phone ( I get better reception there) and I never got another call or voice mail. :( Hopefully he will get a chance to call again soon. I still need to get flight info from him so I can meet him at the gate at the airport instead of waiting in baggage claim. I'll be SO glad when this is over.

Ok, sorry about that rant. Im doing good calorie wise and Im thinking I will come in at 156 instead of 154 at the end of the challenge. Ive streadily lost a lb a week and Im pretty excited about that. I started counting calories 4/28 and since then Ive lost 13lbs. :) I love calorie counting, I had been trying several different things for months and I wasnt losing anything. The scale didnt start moving till I started counting :)

jdonato 05-27-2010 11:29 AM

aluxa: I know what you mean about weekends...they are my biggest weakness. 1lbs you can so do it and you have come so far, you should be very proud!

susieyarb: Sorry to hear about your baby boy, hope he feels better. And congrats and othe size Medium!:carrot:Now that diserves a celebration! And your going on a cruise....ohhhh how fun!

KDM: I'm so happy and proud of you for the 160's that's huge!:congrat: You've worked so hard and the pics show it and so does the scale! You were right about the water weight...1.8lbs went away yesterday just by drinking a crap load of water. I'm so going to looked at 30DS...if the price is right I will get it...but have to be careful about the bf lol...he does the bills in the house and I'm trying to get him on board with eating right again and working out. Men and money...if it's a toy they want oh sure we have the money but for us...it's another girl thing apparently we don't need hehe.

Shan: the 2lbs could be water weight, did you eat alot of sodium? and you said you had a good workout, sometimes the muscles swell and hold water while they repair and rebuild from working out. Good Luck!

Rice: sorry you've been sick, that's such a bummer. On the positive side you did lose weight and that's something to celebrate!

ShylahEQ: nice job on the workout! Many I can't wait to try what you guys are doing...keep up the sweating! :)

CorinneIrene: Great job on the workout and way to resist the ice cream. That's my weakness for the summer. Oh and you are planting a garden!?....the bf wants to do one this weekend. any tips?

Baben: way to stick with it and 3lbs is huge! Keep up the good work!

Fitin10: Way to meet your goal! Thanks, I have gotten back on the wagon and I'm going to try and stay on track.

Sugar: Sorry about the DH not being able to talk to him. Hope you get to soon! I know when the bf is on trips, especially when he has to go to Germany....his time to call me is like 2am and i'm already passed out and I missed his calls. He'll be home soon! Good Luck!

So great OP day yesterday. I took in 1525cal and my range is 1400-1600 so that's good. from all the water and just staying on track I lost 1.8lbs lol..I hate out our bodies change so quickly. Getting some good progress on the studying, I read all the material, did a practice test, and now I'm going to go over the subjects I got wrong, and this weekend keep taking practice tests. Things are a lil heavy in the house right now...they bf and I have been fighting. Mainly I've been so stressed and to my breaking points and he feels my reactions are treating him like crap. Well part of it I agree with and trying to work through the stress, and the other parts...he keeps wanting more projects more more more and puts more stress and hasn't tried to work with me on what's gonig on in my life, not once! The party he was so consumed with how the house looked(caulked, painted, mulch in the yard) that I had to do all the food, shopping, cooking everything, and he said he wanted to throw me the party? And the other part I feel he's being a bit sensitive lately...on everything! I guess men can have their TOMs too. Oh and did I mention that when we argue as a leverage for him he says comments like..."well i'm not going to put the ring on your finger if you..."....Im not going to marry you if you..." threatening it like it's nothing, and to me it's a huge symbol that he's brought down to just a peice of jewerly to throw in my face! It's to the point where I"m not even excited because he threatens it so much it's just ruins it. I don't know I think maybe we've been cooped up together these past few weeks day and night maybe we need a break...like me going to my parents for the weekend to visit. Or him going for a guys night...which I hope happens soon! So with that rant, I'm going to get ready to go to my Aunts today and then study study study.

I hope you all have a great day the weather is beautiful!
