Default I feel sick..

I had a meeting with work today and didn't have time to stop and get a good lunch before the meeting. So after we got out I stopped at McDonalds and got 2 mcchicken sandwiches. I just looked to see how many calories were in it and I'm sick now that I've realized how many calories I had for just a snack. 720 cals all together....ugg. I've definately learned from that and will never do that again!!!

I hear ya'! That's where planning comes in handy. Sometimes it's not possible & that's ok too. My personal goal with planning is to never, ever allow myself to get too hungry because I end up with take out food in my lap. I plan small meals (most of the time!) and space them out. I eat every 3 hrs. no matter what!
Now, that's my goal. I haven't been 100% perfect with it but it's what I'm working toward for now.

I have been there many times when I started calorie counting. I remember going to Subway during the first month of my healthy lifestyle, thinking it was a good option. I ordered a 12" sub with cheese, sauce and the works. It ended up having more calories, fat and sodium than a McDonald's Double Big Mack meal! I still go to Subway but now I know what to order to enjoy a 450 calorie healthy sub. I still find myself shocked when looking up calories for certain foods. I always say to myself, no wonder I was fat
I agree with steph, it's all about planning and trying to figure things out ahead of time when possible. Maybe you could pack a little stash of healthier options in your glove box or purse in case of an emergency.
Don't beat your self up over your little slip. Everyone stumbles sometimes, it's how we learn
