Default Me vs. Munchies!

I have a bad case of the munchies right now, so far I haven't given in. I am not hungry, so I don't need to eat, but boy do I have the urge to stuff myself with whatever fatty and sugary stuff I can find in the kitchen. I am guzzling water and diet cherry coke in my atempt to get past this. I hate having the munchies!
I'll let y'all know who won in the morning. Please, oh please, let it be me!

P.S. I am in Japan, so it is Friday evening here. It's Friday morning in the U.S.

YEah! I'm glad you came here instead! Have you read the goal forum? That always inspires me to stick to my food plan.

I'm guessing you already know this but I'll put it out there anyway... Can you find someway to distract yourself? Even if you can't leave the apartment/house because it's late, call someone up...or stay on 3FC and browse the boards. I know when I get the urge to eat junk food (and I'm not actually hungry) I do 5-10 minutes of exercise in my apartment and the urge often passes. Or I go take a shower since that takes up about 10 minutes and it's pretty hard to eat while in the shower.

No day but today
Dana

At these times I will have a 100 calorie bag of kettle popcorn (if you can allow the calories) I find sometimes I just need to give in to a healthier Munchie instead of putting it off.

I do the same when I have the urge to eat 'snacks'. I grab a diet coke! I know everyone and their mom has an opinion on diet soda's, but it helps distract me from the fact that those potatoe chips sure looks great ;]

I won; I won! Thank you all for your ideas. I like the shower idea; I can't recall ever eating in my bathroom! I had a little calorie room, so I could have had a small healthy snack, but when I am not hungry and I get that feeling of wanting to eat any and every piece of junk I can get my hands on, eating the healthy snacks turns into eating 2 healthy snacks, and so on until I just completely cave and eat any and everything. I did sit and read a bunch of posts on here, mostly the "I like being fat because thread." It helped keep me busy and focused on something else and reminded me why I had to win this battle.
RynKay~ I love my diet sodas. I have cut back a lot recently, but I am in no way ready or willing to give them up!
Thanks everone for your support!

I'm glad you beat the urge! Yesterday while I was out shopping, I had such strong urges to get a Crispy Cream - it was right there in the parking lot of the shops. But I had planned ahead and brought along an apple, almonds and a Special K Protein Bar. I ate my almonds and DID NOT GIVE IN!

So I know exactly what you were going through!

Susie~ Way to plan ahead!
It's really hard to say no to the junk sometimes.
