For those who wanted the pizza recipe - it is SUPER easy (I don't cook and I made it yesterday and today). It's from "Eating for Life" which is the companion cookbook to the Body for Life program. Preheat the oven to 425. Put 1-2tbsp bbq sauce over a small whole wheat pita (mine was about six inches across), add cooked chicken breast, chopped red onions, and top with 1/4c low fat mozzerella cheese. Bake for 10-12 minutes until the cheese melts and the pita is crispy. I am telling you - this is SO good. You can easily figure out the calories which of course will vary based on what pita bread and cheese you use.

I also made a great chicken salad that I stuffed into lettuce leaves - hmm, maybe wrapped is better than stuffed! Anyway, that was chopped chicken breast, black beans (rinsed), canned corn, chopped red pepper, chopped red onion, lime juice, cumin (tiny bit), 1/4c fat free sour cream, 1/4c fat free Miracle Whip or mayo. Mix it all up and eat it however - soooo good.

Oh, and my final Eating for Life recipe! Chocolate mousse - mix one packet of sugar free chocolate pudding with fat free milk (based on the instructions on the packet), add one scoop protein powder (I used vanilla) and 1/2c fat free Cool Whip. Blend the whole lot, let it sit for about an hour in the fridge. So good, about 150 cals, and 30g of protein (depending on what protein powder you use).

I'm trying the workout routine from Body for Life - it's weight training (heavy weights), alternating upper and lower body, and every other day HIIT cardio (high intensity interval training, I think it means!). Work out six days a week, with a day off. Just trying to shake things up a bit and get some more energy to get me through the last few weeks of this crazy time at work.

Well I just finished my C25K WO...and I've decided to skip WK 8...Wk 8 has you running 28min and when I hit 28, I liked the song too much, so I kept going and ran for 30min (which is wk9)...so I ran, well jogged (4.5mph), for 30min straight which totaled 2.25miles!!! WOOHOO! My new Brooks shoes are AWESOME!!! As well as the iPod...hearing the music in the earphones (rather than on the radio speakers) helped SOOO much...I didn't even really think about how much time I had left...

LORI---I AM SOO READY FOR AN ARBOR DAY CHALLENGE!!! I love these challenges so much! They keep me on track! Glad to hear it's warming up in Ohio for ya! BTW...what part of Ohio do you live in???

JULES--that pizza sounds tasty! AND the mousse!! Thanks for providing the recipes! Also, I've heard good things about HIIT...I think I'm gonna try it after I work my way to running 3miles! I've only been focusing on time rather than distance in the C25K program, but I'd like to get to 3miles so I can sign up for a 5k race!! Good luck "shakin things up" and I hope work doesn't get too too crazy for ya!!

Good Morning

Today is upper body weights, and I will have to get it in early because DH has an appointment with his cardiologist @ 11 this morning. That should give me plenty of time to get my workout in and do some cleaning.

ok,everytime i cheat on my diet im going to confess to it to you guys...i ate 350calories over yesterday. DH is the culprit;), he decide's to make mozzarella sticks last night. I told him not to buy them. (of course i could have said no too:o) He's already mentioned eating out for lunch at Steak & Shake after his doctors appt....now what in the **** can i eat on a diet at Steak and Shake?:?: will probably have to go somewhere else...

bbl

NightAngel26 03-09-2010 06:52 AM

ok...

misspriss- maybe you can look up some menu items from that place and decide ahead of time what mgiht fork for you. It seems to help. Also, as far as cheating on diets, confession is half the battle ;)

KDM322- running eh? I wish I could do that, it hurts a lot to breathe though...and of course being really out of shape doesn't help either. More power to ya! :cheer3:

Julesp313- Thanks for the recipes, def have to try that pizza some time! :T

I'm kinda good with not having an arbor day challenge only because I have a monthly challenge normally anyway and so it might not really matter either way... I'm currently fighting off my extra lbs... and should be back on track some time tomorrow.... :carrot:

farn00a57 03-09-2010 01:12 PM

hello , hello, hello!! Just a really quick note today for me, I have a huge exam in about 4 hours that I have barely studied for. shame, I know. I will catch up more later. So I gained, the 2.5 from this weekend like i said, but I now lost a pound of that, so i'm working my way back down! I have 6 pounds to go to reach my 20 pound mark lost for St. Patty's day. I'm hoping what I put on this weekend was water weight and I will have a whoosh some time soon and get close to goal. Otherwise it's going to be very very close!!

jdonato 03-09-2010 02:11 PM

I hope everyone is having a great day. It's beautiful outside and the best part is the nights are getting warmer, easier walking for class.

Farn: I wish you the best of luck on your exam! I totally understand, I have two tomorrow and one thursday. Stress and weightloss are not good friends. Congrats on losing 1lb, I'm sure it is all water weight.

misspriss: Men are very bad influences for dieting. The bf will do that with pizza rolls. And 350 calories really isn't that bad. Good luck with lunch today. I think they list nutriton facts on their website and there also is dailyplate.com and livestrong.com that will list the menu items. Hope it helps.

jules: It is so funny just as soon as I got done reading your post how to make the bbq pizza, my daily email from Hungrygirl.com pops up and guess what....Swap for bbq pizza with the same ingredients you said. Weird!?:dizzy: but either way that sounds really good and easy to calorie count out. I will definitely make it for dinner this week. It will make the bf think he's eating pizza and me happy with healthy wise. Thanks again!

I'll get to everyone else later when I take a study break tonight!

I've been doing really good so far. 8 days binge free and today will be Day 9! Thanks to Lori's suggestion of uping my calories I've been able to stay OP and even lose a little. I feel very comfortable and more incontrol, which I can't say for school right now. I have two exams tomorrow and on thursday and I'm freaking out! I'm worried about this semester. One class I failed the first exam, which I can still do well providing I do well on the next exam and final. Which is why I try to do my best on the midterms so the finals are not as stressful.....*sigh*. I need help and I hope my friends at school can help me. We all are stressed with graduation, but if I fail my class then there won't be a graduation....grrrrrrrr! I have class at 3:30 til 7:30 then run home eat dinner and study for the night. I just want to get through these next 3 exams and do well then I'm on spring break.

well i'm off to get ready. I hope everyone's doing great. TTYL

Katy05 03-09-2010 04:27 PM

Hi everyone. I'm sorry for my absence and lack of posts over the last few days. I haven't been doing so great. This past weekend was spent fighting with my boyfriend, who is over a thousand miles away, about sh*t we shouldn't be fighting about. It was so stressful and emotionally draining that on Saturday night I went over to a friends and drank what felt like a million calories, ate like I was starving and just felt... awful. Since then, I haven't had much of an appetite and I haven't been eating as much as I should. I'm still making good choices when I eat but I know I'm not eating enough. I also got my monthly visit from TOM on Saturday, so that doesn't help things. I'm still hovering around 195lbs and I'm still on track exercise wise so I'm hoping I'll hit my goals next week. I'm going to try my hardest.

Has anyone ever been in or know of anyone who's been in a long distance relationship that's been successful? I'm having a really tough time with mine. :(

fruitlady 03-09-2010 06:39 PM

Did good today again, I had 1040 calories and am in the losing mode right now. Lost 1 lb. so I have 3lbs. to go for the challenge.

zoochick777 03-09-2010 07:02 PM

Hey everyone, sorry I've been gone for awhile. Being sick and having to work during the day was draining all my energy, so I've been sleeping/resting in the afternoons. I'm finally feeling better and the cough is almost gone as well. The bad part is that I gained a few pounds this week. I hadn't been burning as many calories but I'd been eating the same amount (plus more on some days). In addition to that, TOM is here so I have some extra water weight. Hopefully it'll be gone by the end of the week. I really need to start logging my meal/calories again. I've really been slacking with that.

Lori259 03-09-2010 10:18 PM

Today Was Awesome!

katy~Love stinks~& is great all in one! TOM ~well it just stinks~i hate it totally. As far as long distance relationships...Depends on you & him I would think...If It aint working for u ~maybe it aint the right thing for u. But then again maybe it is...Only u know. Just look deep within for the answer to that one.~HUGS!

fruitlady~good job~even though I am still worried your eating to low of calories~HUGS!

zoochick~Hope u get totally well soon!! sounds like your close to being well.
As far as weight gain while your sick~We all are at our low points when were ill~U can get it right back off~ u May have just needed more in ya for energy while ya was sick~our bodys know these things.~HUSG TO YA!

As for me..........Spent hours outside today ~OMG ~I am getting a sore throat but "i think" it was worth it~I had a blast! nearly 6 months cooped indoors because of breathing issues is waaaay to long! I was nearly going nuts!
Now as soon as the good weather sets in for the season I will definetly get these last few pounds off quick cause I was all over my property~And it is hills mostly~good exercise! Anyways Had a superb day!
Hope everyone else did too!
If it is warm 2morrow also & not rainy I am gonna venture out there again!!!
It got like 68 to 69 here today in OHIO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WAS SOOOOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!

Hugs~to all

NightAngel26 03-10-2010 09:01 AM

hmm..

Well, the scale is not going down... and TOM is coming... right in time to mess up my goal for this challenge. I dunno if it'll work out :( I think it was 225... well... at least I have 2 other goals this month to work on...

NightAngel26 03-10-2010 09:06 AM

hmm...

Katy05- Well, long distance relationships are really tough. They require a lot of trust and patience... I myself won't have one because it's just too hard and I'm not the most trusting of men sometimes. Anyway, I'm trying to think if I've known any that have worked. I know a couple of people who have had online relationships int he past... one they had for about a year but I think the lack of physical being gets to ya... and they broke up. The other I remember was dating other people at the same time. I guess it depends on what you're comfortable with. 1,000 miles is a long way... especially if you don't see a change in the future. I mean temporary absence isin't that bad...like when a person is off to college or overseas... I guess it depends on the person how it goes.... I'm sorry things seem like they're crashing down. It should all work out somehow. Maybe focus on something else right now... at least they're not standing there fighting with you in the same room I guess. That's a pain.

farn00a57 03-10-2010 11:27 AM

Good Morning all!! Well today has started off pretty well for me, I know I did well on my test last night, stayed OP all day, and today the scale was my best friend! I lost all the weight I gained from this weekend plus 1/2 a pound. So that puts me at 4 pounds away from my goal for St. Patty's day!! I hope I make it!! I haven't weighed this low in I honestly cannot remember, so today is a good day for me. I'm going to make it every day like this from now on! I hope everybody else is having a good start of the day as well!!!
Attention: OFFICIALLY ONE WEEK LEFT!!!! THIS IS THE FINAL STRETCH!!!!!!!! Go Team Go Team, Ra Ra Sis Boom Bah!!!!! (ok, not even going to pretend I was a cheerleader in hs....) :carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot::carrot:

Oh and I am totally down for an Arbor Day challenge!!! I will plant a tree in my backyard for everybody that makes their goal!!! How about that?! Losing weight and helping mother earth!! :)

KDM: I think you were right about it just being water weight!! haha. I hate that crap! Congrats on being in the 170's!!!! That's awesome!!! And those 2.5 miles!! Holy crap, i can only dream about runnning that! haha

Shylah: mmmm that pizza you had sounds good!! We have to enjoy ourselves every once in a while!!

fruitlady: it's alright, the same thing happened to me this past weekend, I gained 2.5 pounds!! Like KDM told me, it's probably just water weight! I don't think you can gain 2 pounds that fast! It'll be gone before you know it!!

Nightangel: congrats on making it into one of the pairs!! I sometimes think non scale victories are way better than the pound or two we get every so often from the scale

Lori: you sound like you belong in my family!! With your extreme love of flowers!!! haha reading your posts i get deja vu! haha hopefully you get to enjoy your flowers soon enough! They will be blooming soon! My mom keeps dragging me to Bachman's every sunday after church, haha for sure sign, that it's flower time!

julesp: thanks for that recipe!!! All of those things sound amazing!! I'm going to have to try it sometime soon!!

misspriss: don't you just hate when family members go out and get fattening food? My whole family ordered Papa John's the other night with cheesy bread galore too...I shockingly had a salad.....just not the same haha

jdonato: thanks!! it went really well ( I think) but you know how that goes...you never REALLY know until you get the test handed back. I have the issue of thinking I did better than I really did....haha. How are your exams going?!! Midterms suck!!1 good luck on them!! Spring break is almost here!! Are you doing anything fun for spring break?

katy05: sorry to hear that you are having troubles with your boyfriend. I give you so many props, a long distance relationship has got to be hard. My longest distance relationship was where he lived about two hours away. i thought that was extremely rough and it was only TWO HOURS!! I ended up getting really paranoid and I didn't trust him ever, so I had to break it off for my sanity. I mean it wasn't a real LDR but with school and work and life in general it was hard to see him. you have to do what is best for you and in your heart. Sometimes we need to be a little selfish and do what is best for us and nobody else. Whatever that decison is I hope it finds you happy!!Life is too short to be sad!! And I do know somebody that is in a long distance relationship and it's succesful too! So it's not all bad news! haha. He is stationed in South Carolina for the Army and she's here in MN. I know its something that they work on every day but they want it bad enough, so they don't mind to make the effort. So it is possible! Stay strong chica!

zoochick: glad to hear that you are feeling a little better!! :)

Well I'm off to go meet with my friend to plan our itinerary for Mexico! I leave in a week!! Have a good day everybody!!
