I'm curious what most peoples average calorie burn per day is vs. their weight. Please post your current weight and average calorie burn minus actual excercise time. More like your "baseline".
Mine: 280# and I have hit 3000 calories burned 3 days in a row now.
So here is the thing with the BB and GWF that I have learned, everyone is different. We burn differerent eat more or less and certainly our stats are different. Great on the calorie burn that is a huge day for me.
My advice is to maintain your deficit and you will lose be active log your food and have fun with the numbers.
Hi! I've only been using the GWF for about a month now... I weigh 215 and my average calorie burn (for a day when I get NO real activity) is right around 2000. I try to burn at least 500 more each day - but, the real deal, of course, is the deficit you want to keep between the burn and the consume. I set a goal of a pound and a half a week, so I average the 750 calorie deficit I need.
They are amazing armbands that tell you how many calories you burn, steps you take, how long you are being active, and even sleep efficiency, it is great!
I'm curious about these, as well! Do both require you to subscribe to the website? Or will both function without the website? I'd like to purchase one, but I don't want to be required to subscribe to the website - if I choose to discontinue that portion, I'd like to still be able to use the gadget to calculate my caloric needs. Could anyone provide me with some insight? I quickly looked at the website, but I always feel a bit like I'm not getting the 'truth'. :0)
you do have to subscribe to be able to use the BB and the GWF. it really is the point of the device. but it is not that expencive, the longer you subscribe the cheeper per month. I have had mine a year and I think it is about 10 bucks a month, really not that big a deal since I have stuck to my plan that entire time. check out the big threads and see if it helps you find some answers:
thanks - I'm really just looking to find out what I "burn" on average (rather than just using equations!)....so it might not be the greatest investment for me. I appreciate the help!
Tigergirl, I'm right around the same. I weigh 208 and I just started wearing the BB a few days ago. For now I just wanted to see what I burn on a daily basis, without working out. I have been burning between 1900-2000 on a regular day. I haven't started tracking my food intake yet. I will start that tomorrow. I am hoping to stay around 1400 calories consumed, and with a workout, I am hoping to get a 1000 calorie deficit. Wish me luck.
Tina
I have a GWF. I currently weigh about 214 lbs. When I sit on my butt and do absolutely nothing all day, I usually hit 2000 - 2100. If I get some exercise (anything really - a walk, shopping, or just a work day where I end up taking the stairs a couple of times and walking to the bus stop) it's 2400 - 2600.
I haven't had the GWF very long, and the weather has been horrendous (I live in northern Alberta, we had -50C for about two weeks straight and I couldn't go outside to exercise), so I haven't gotten to find out my calorie burn on a really active day yet. I'd like to be able to push it to 3000!
On a side note - I absolutely love this thing. It's really helped me with the all or nothing attitude I used to have. I used to binge if I went over my planned 1500. But even if I eat more than I planned, the GWF gives me confirmation that it's not the end of the world and I usually still have a deficit. It's allowed me to be more flexible and not so rigid in how well I follow the rules I set for myself.
