  • Quote: I remember that Clearly Canadian stuff. I hadn't even noticed it was gone. Wow.
I miss those lol ... I visited their website and apparently they still make them but they are in a plastic container now instead of the glass ones like they use to come in. They show a list of places but apparently nothing near here which is why I haven't seen them in a LONG time.
  • I used to drink pepsi only but then when I went to weight watchers it was too many points to drink so I switched to diet mtn dew. I have been with it ever since. Since I started dieting this time around -- I still have my diet dew so it wasn't a struggle. I have given up my afternoon -- but I still have my pop in the morning!
  • i enjoy diet soda to me regular has too much of a strong flavor. but its up to you . do you really wanna waste calories on a liquid.

Totally agree. Why would you want calories on liquid. It does nothing for you except cause you to eat less "real" food if you strictly follow a daily calorie goal.
  • Diet soda all the way! It's sort of embarrassing, but that first sip of diet coke after I get to work always makes me feel really happy...
I've been pretty much addicted to the stuff since 8th grade so I figure any damage is already done, plus i drink less now than I did in high school/college.
  • Personally, when I drink soda, I drink diet Pepsi or Coke. I try not to have it too often (soooo bad for your teeth, if nothing else!) but have been drinking more lately (bad me).

I drink diet so I don't have to feel guily about the calories, but that being said, I believe drinking diet soda actually makes me feel hungrier. More than once, I've had a soda just because it sounded good, and by the time I finish it I feel absolutely ravenous and _have_ to eat something. Kind of counterproductive to the whole reason behind wanting to drink a diet soda anyways... Does this happen to anyone else, or am I just weird?
  • I've drank diet soda for so long the regular stuff is waaay too sweet for me.
  • Being as I asked the initial question in this thread, I thought I'd update ya's. I alloted calories for a regular soda that first Friday a few weeks ago. Last night though I decided since we were staying home I would try a diet coke. BIG MISTAKE!! Whoever said that some people get sick on the artificial sweeteners in it ... were right. Atleast I am now classified as one of those people. I drank the diet coke .. which didnt actually taste too bad ... and I felt fine. That was around 6 pm last night. I woke up around 2 am in the morning ... sick to my stomach ... and it finally commenced about 7 am this morning. The only thing different I had was that diet coke ... so I'll be allotting calories for a regular soda every so often instead of the diet. Thanks to everyone that contributed to this discussion!
