How many calories are in a small gin and tonic? x
  • An ounce of gin has about 65 calories. Tonic water has about 5 calories and ounce. So it depends of the portion. A website I use to count calories is http://livestrong.com/thedailyplate I love it. It will answer any calorie count question you have.
  • hey there,

you could also try joining fit day, tis a good way to calorie count, and track everything - comes up first in google!

    good Luck

Ps - Try slimline (diet ) tonic, I find no difference in it!
  • Hi Thanks! I have just signed up tp fit day. God its shocking when you realise that your obese, kicks you in the face but im glad im taking action NOW.

Im pretty boggled to be honest with counting calories and this whole thing but i figured out, eat less, move more, loose more.

The slimline is great I agree. I have not eaten near what I should of done today so a nightcap of a small gin and tonic will bump me up 171 cals lol.

Any more tips please send my way. x
  • Good luck with it all, its an utter pain in the *** eh, and abit of a mine field! But it's all worth it in the long run.

Re tips, here's my biggies for what its worth!
Cut right down or eliminate all the empty processed refined carbs
    Drink loadsa water
eat lots and lots of fresh fruit and veg
    plenty of lean protein

You'll get a lot more bang for your buck (in terms of calories) if you stick to these types of foods
  • Thanks hun I am going to stock up on chicken breast, salmon and lots of veg.

what are processed refined carbs? x

    The good stuff!!!!

White bread, potato chips, sugary snacks, basically all the stuff you first think of when you are having a craving!!!

But when you do cut them out, it soes get easier after a while, for me, this is the type of stuff that is utterly my downfall, everything is a potential sandwich!!!!
  • processed/refined carbs are things like white rice or anything made with white flour. It is better to stick to whole grains, brown rice, etc. It is better fuel for your body.
  • Aha brilliant thanks for your help. Im a bread girl too, but the white stuff is banished. 1 slice of weight watchers brown a day for me now. xxxx
  • Hey,

    you are most welcome!

Just as a matter of interest, are you not posting your weight for a reason, your choice of course, but I find it helps... you can see your progress etc, and just to post any changes is a little bit of motivation to keep at it
  • can i get a banner? i weigh 196 arghh!!
  • not yet, think its like 2 weeks or 20 posts min or something like that...
but if you go in to quick links, and edit profile, one of the bits to fill out is
    S: (start) / C: (Current) / G: (goal
then it comes up on the sidebar.

196 was the weight I was the last time I lost weight, before I started with the sandwiches again!!

Keep the faith, just think, it'll all be gone by next year at the latest if you stick with it!!
  • Thanks ellie I am determined to stick with it. Im having hormonal problems and being reffered to here there and everywhere so i think the healthier I am the better, and also if we want a family in the future ill be in better shape for it.

what dress size are you can i ask? im a 16 bottoms. x
  • Well, I'm on Euro sizes, so, I am an 18 (in most brands, but still a bit tight in some stores for say really fitted jeans ), but that would be 14 in America.
I am actually heading off on hols to West coast next week, and am planning on buying lots of clothes so I can pretend I am 2 sizes smaller than I am.

In tops I can mostly buy 16's now depending on the fit (That is US12)
  • Im in UK hun, england near manchester and preston. Bloody clothes shopping lolol xx
