Default CC math question

Ok, so, these websites say that if you multiply your current weight by like 12 or 13, that's how much you need to stay at that weight. Well, what would happen if i multiplied my goal weight by 12 or 13 and just ate those calories? would I get down to my goal?? Thanks!!

Well, let me try this on myself. Current weight x 12 is (208x12) 2496 calories to maintain my current weight. Goal weight is (160x12) 1920 calories. Seems about right to me - I am consuming 1800 calories per day to loose 1.75lbs / week. To loose one pound, you need to burn 3500 more calories than you consume.

Now, of course you have to be careful - you don't want to restrict to much or your body will go into starvation mode and hold on to every stinking calorie you eat. Did that between baby #3 and baby #4, lost all but 15lbs and was training to run a half marathon. I didn't take the added activity into account - I actually should have been eating MORE to loose MORE.
