Question Any advice for memorial day pot luck?

So we are going to a memorial day pot luck/grill out today. Just looking for some advice on foods. Heres my plans. We are bringing a green salad with carrots and cabbage, no dressing on it but offering dressings on the side for those who want it. I am bringing my own drinks, with some to share as well. I plan on bringing a big bottle of water for myself to keep myself full. For the meat, it was hot dogs so I am bringing one of my own and asking the grill master to grill it up for me, because I know what the calorie count is and its something I can eat based on its content. I also plan on eating very shortly before we go and only staying for 2 hours.

Any advice, what to go for, what to avoid, tips on eating, or ways to avoid eating out of boredom. Any other suggestions on what to bring?

Fruit salad is always a go-to if someone brought that. It sounds like you are planning ahead to make sure you can stay on track....good for you!!!

Your plan sounds great... eat whatever meat your brought with lots of salad and you should be fine! I would suggest getting involved in some activity that keeps you away from the food table.

Thanks, I think there should be games and such, so I will try to stay over in those areas. We just had a nice filling lunch and we will have a nice filling snack before the party, im thinking high in protein. We also got some more boxes of South Beach Tide Me Over water mixes yesterday on sale which really does help keep the hunger away, so that's what we will probably drink before we go.

Thanks everyone did really well, in fact didnt really eat enough, had to come home and eat some more. I even avoided the sweets room (yes they took up a whole room) so I am rewarding myself with a sugar free fudgesicle tonight.
