PLease somebody!!! How many shrimp are in an ounce of shrimp. Im dumbfounded with cooking, and looking everywhere to how many shrimp is in 7 ounces of shrimp? Im going to a mothers day brunch and they have alot of food but im trying not to go off plan and my food plan is allowing me 7 ounces of shrimp. How many is that?
Yes, it would depend on the size but according to Calorie King 4 large cooked shrimp is approx. 0.8 oz. so that is about 35 shrimp in 7 oz. Of course that is just the shrimp and doesn not take into account any cooking oil (if used) or dips you might dip it in. Enjoy your shrimp!
I have also been struggling with the shrimp question. Finally today I bought some cooked shrimp. I peeled and weighed them and they came out to be about .5 ounces each. I would say these are Medium to Large sized shrimp. They seemed to be the "normal" or most common size that I am usually served when eating out. So from now on, when I can't weigh portions I am going to count 2 shrimp as 35 calories and add estimate a cooking/ingredients factor when necessary.
All I could think when I saw this was "mmmmm peel and eat shrimp... mmmmm." I don't really have anything to add, but it looks like everyone else got ya covered.
