Default Help Please! Calories in hamburger?

So, I'm struggling with how many calories are in hamburger. We get a cow from the 4-H kids each year, and I can't get a clear answer on how many calories are in it. It is 90% lean, and we have been figuring 4 oz =200 calories. Does that sound right?
Thanks,
Rachel

That is the same figure I get from my Calorie King Calorie, Fat and Carbohydrate Counter. That is 4 ounces raw.

Hi, on Fit Day I get 284 for 4oz cooked, and 243.71 for 4 oz raw.
Hope that helps!
Have a great evening!

That's interesting, sussurro. My FitDay (downloaded) says beef, ground, 90% lean has 200 calories for 4 ounces raw, and 175 calories for 4 ounces cooked.

Frustrated Mom, have you tried FitDay or one of the other calorie/diet sites?

I like to us the USDA info.
http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/search/

they have 90% fat as 199 calories for 113 grams or apprximately 4 oz. The nice thing about their site is you can use it for almost any cut of meat or vegetable including what you trim the fat to.

I have looked on this site, and many others, and just get confused, because we get it butchered, we don't buy it in the store, and we are counting it as raw meat. We are both losing weight, so it must be somewhat accurate- 4oz raw is 200 calories

I would go withh 200. I am a firm beleiver in calorie counting. Sometimes we just have to take the best estimate we can find. It works, though however you do it.
