I decided last night I wanted pizza, Little Cesar's 5.00 large was calling me. But in stead I go to Publix to see what I wanted to get to cook for dinner. As soon as I walked in they had the BOGO free bins and what was in there..... PIZZA CRUSTS!! that had packs of 3 7inch crust, buy one get one free. I was intrigued, never made my own pizza before. I put the crust in my cart, then got an onion and some mushrooms, turkey Italian sausage, turkey pepperoni, I already had some bell pepper at home. Then it was off to find sauce, ragu seemed to be the most popular but I knew I didn't like ragu spaghetti sauce so I didn't want to try their pizza sauce. I found this brand called L E Roselli's it is 20cals per 1/4cup. The pizza crust was 280, the pepperoni was 25cals for 17, the sausage I think is about 160 a link. I only used 1/8 cup of sauce, 1/8 cup for each diced veggie, 1/3 of the sausage link, 5 pepperonis and a table spoon of bacon bits.
We cut eat pizza in to 4 peices, The kids each had a whole pizza, Hubby and I had 1 and 1/2 and then a big Cesar salad(a tablespoon of Ken's Light Cesar ) I ate 3 pieces saved the other 3 for my lunch today. It was so good, better than a 1 topping pizza from the pizza place, and i think it may have beat the super supreme from Pizza Hut. The cost was 30.00 but I still have plenty of meat and veggies to make more pizzas. I wonder if I could make these up and freeze them?
ETA: I also used about 1/3 cup of mozzarella cheese per pizza
