you burn TONS of calories without actually doing ANYTHING, just the calories that you burn living is your BMR, so if you burn those plus EVERYTHING that you eat off, you are leaving no room for nutrition.

also do the 'calculate daily caloric needs' thing underneath your results.
  • the only exercise i did was the weights and the crunches...everything else was just a normal day, though
  • thanks everyone i am going to try daily plate also
  • Hey so I have a questions. I used your BMR calculation site and it says mine is 1610.69 and I get a Moderately Active (gym 4 +times a week and a lot of walking) so when I times it by 1.55 I get (rounded up) 2500 and to lose weight I should subtract 500-1000 cals from that total.. so the minimum I should be eating is 1500 right?

    Hopefully that made sense!!!

Thanks folks.. oh and I use caloriecount.about.com but since almost everyone said the daily plate, I might switch heh
  • I use Edibles on my IPhone. It backs up to their website so I can view my eating history online. The program was pretty cheap, I think a one time fee of $6, although I do wish it had more functionality.

It does make counting calories pretty effortless since I always have my phone with me.
  • I use http://www.sparkpeople.com/ to track but I use tdp sometimes to look stuff up
  • I used to use Fitday but now I am going to try Daily Plate.
  • does the dialy plate have all the other functions fitday has?

i dont have a problem adding in the food i cant find but if everything is the same but with a bigger food data base- then daily plateit is
  • Thanks everyone! I'm new here and I was trying to decide which online calorie journal I should go with. This info definately helps I am going to sign up on TheDailyPlate!
