Default It's good to log!

Yesterday I was out of the house all day, including going to the show to see Marley and Me. I decided to get some serious nachos (as in nachos with all the works). Afterwards I felt pretty guilty and didn't want to log it, but I finally sat down and logged everything. I ended up only going over 300 calories yesterday! If I hadn't have logged it I would be walking around thinking I really blew it. So the lesson learned here is to log no matter what.

I agree to log no matter what. I ate on the road yesterday and thought for sure I had gone way over. I got home and logged and I was just fine. I am a first time calorie counter. It is nice to know how much you can and can't eat. I eat more than I thought I could to lose weight. I wouldn't have eaten as much without counting. I love that you can log it online. I can't imagine how people used to do it before the internet!!

Beemer, I use my PDA and a program called Diet Organizer right now. But I have a bodybugg coming so I will be doing it online soon enough. I also ordered a DietMinder food diary to keep track of things when I am not around the computer.

Way to go

Many times before I've over eaten and later calculated that the total calories I ate was not actually that much more than normal.

I totally agree. It is important to log everything...the good, the bad, and the ugly! LOL The first time I counted calories was many many years ago, and I only had a very small book that I found near the register at the supermarket. It was no where near as complete as the books we can buy now. Of course the Internet definitely makes it a lot easier. I just got a bodybugg, and I'm using their program to keep track.
