No wonder I feel better!

  • I started calorie counting in July,so far I have lost 20 pounds.
No one has noticed so I REALLY must be FAT.
Anyway, I just finished doing a Walk Away the Pounds video .For the first time I used the hand weights,3 pounds each.
    WOW 6 pounds is heavy.!!!
And I was carrying 20 extra in July?
No wonder I am already feeling better!
No wonder I was always out of breath and exhausted!

    I hope I can lose the other 50 !
I'll feel like a kid again!!!!
  • Congratulations! It feels so good to realize how much you've already taken off -- it's great incentive to keep on going. Don't worry that no one's said anything yet -- I think people don't start commenting until at least the 25# mark because they don't want to gaffe on a sensitive subject like weight.

    Congrats!
  • Excellent!!!
Isn't it amazing when you see your losses from that perspective? Think how even better you'll feel when you've lost a whole big bag of dog food
  • I've almost lost as much as my two children weigh! So, I can easily imagine the old me by picking them both up! And, I can't imagine carrying them for long!
  • Twenty pounds is equal to 80 sticks of butter. Way to go!
  • I think about it every time I go to the pet store to get litter for the cat. I pick up the 25 lb container and lug it to the register ... and think that I used to carry THREE of them around every single day on my body.

    Wow.

    Pretty amazing, huh?

    .
  • That is awesome! WTG!
  • That's fantastic! Way to go. It's wonderful when you can feel the difference.
  • Are you using Leslie's Walk Away Weights?

The reason why I am asking, is because for her videos, her blue ball weights are 2 pounds (I have a pair), or you can use lighter 1 pound ones. I would be really careful about using anything higher than that!

Obviously lifting heavy weights when you are strength training (doing bicep curls etc.,) are safe, but that is when you are in a stationary position. Her WATP workouts are CARDIO, and you want to use very light weights, because of the risk of injury. You are walking, kicking, and moving very rapidly, and you are only meant to use the light ones as an added kick to the cardio workout.

Ankle weights are also not supposed to be used during cardio workouts, but people sometimes do it. There is risk of injury there as well. Ankle weights are supposed to be used during standing or floor lying strengthening exercises for added resistance.

Just be careful! There is a reason that LS uses the 2 pound ones, instead of say, 5.
  • Congrats on the 20 lb. loss! You'll lose the other 50 and then you WILL feel like a kid again!
  • Awesome job! 20 is a lot of weight to carry, it's amazing when you stop to think you used to carry that everyday huh? Your right, you should be feeling good! Keep going & the 50 will be gone before you know it, look how fast it went already to lose the 20!
  • Aphil-
I am doing Walk Away the Pounds.Unfortunatly I could not get the weights Leslie Sansone suggests so I am using 3 pound ball weights. And due to a shoulder injury I am being very careful and am modifying the upper body workout sections to avoid futher injury.
  • If yo uhave a shoulder injury, I would try to get a set of 1 or 2 pounds weights as soon as you can. You don't have to use hers...you can even use regular dumbell shaped weights if you have them, or the weighted wristweights, or weighted gloves, available in most fitness places or fitness sections.

  • Congrats on the loss! I'm confidant that you can lose the rest as well. Keep up the good work!!
