Weekend Accountability!
Hi Ladies -
I am wondering if there is anyone who would like to specifically commit to having on-plan weekends with me. I don't have much trouble staying on track during the week, but the weekends often get out of control. It's amazing how 2 1/2 days can undo 4 days of great work. Would someone be interested in reporting calorie intake and exercise for Fri, Sat, and Sun each week? :^: It could be daily or just on Sunday night/Monday morning, if you're not on the computer much during the weekend (like me). |
Hey I will :) I have a bit of trouble on the weekends especially since this weekend is a canadian long weekend, the weekend after that is a family reunion and the weekend after that is after my trip to niagara :)
|
I'm in! Weekends are horrible for me. I wouldn't mind doing it daily, say at the end of the day? Just knowing I'm gonna post it here should help a bit.
|
Awesome, cdiem and irishfairy! Let's be weekend warriors together! Anyone else?
|
Sounds good to me. A little extra accountability couldn't hurt. :D
|
Count me in however my weekens are Fri & Sat, so I'll be logging Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays :)
|
I'm new, and just trying calorie counting, but I'm in too. Accountability seems like a great thing to help out!
|
WOOOHOOO! I'm super excited that you all are interested! Tracking and reporting what I eat has always been the best way for me to stay on track. Here's to skinny weekends!
:carrot: ps jiggly - we'll be looking for your post on Friday am ;) Maybe I'll just have to start reporting for Thursdays as well! It sure can't hurt. |
You are all about to read exactly why I need "weekend accountability." Here is what I ate and drank yesterday:
B- grande sugar-free soy cinnamon dolce latte (170) S- Trader Joe's light string cheese (60) L- big green salad with feta, strawberries and pistachios, some sort of strawberry dressing (?? cals - free lunch at work) S- two morningstar veggie sausage patties (160) D- (here's where it really goes all wrong) grilled cheese w/grilled onions and tomato on rye, about two cups of cucumber/blue cheese salad, and four beers (not light). I'm "confessing" my evening out, because I'm hoping that being more conscious will lead me to be in better control! It's very easy for me to get off track like that on Friday night and just stay that way until Monday morning. That needs to be different if I'm going to get and keep the weight off. Interestingly, I was down on the scale this morning. But I might be a little dehydrated. At any rate, I'm going jog/walking this morning! |
Weekends are hard for me also, I think its the lack of structure to the days and all the special events we attend in our community. Especially Sundays because my family always has a brunch. I have a huge family and they are all skinny and love to chow down. I'm the oddball who can eat a donut and wear it on my butt for the rest of my life.
I hear you on the beer front. If I drink alcohol I have an initial loss from dehydration and then a huge gain a few days later. I decided that alcohol and weight loss just do not mix so IF I do drink, I only drink red wine, and only one or two glasses. I don't much like the taste of red wine so I sip it and have water with it. And I avoid the "bar scene" because our bars all have grills with them and that always leads to pizza issues... |
Shrink, it seems that your day was pretty okay, until dinner. As you know, one meal's worth of unguarded eating isn't really going to hurt you, as long as it isn't too often and you get back on plan, right away, the next meal. :D Don't beat yourself up over it. You did it, you had a good time. I am just chiming in with support for you being able to jump back OP when it is over. The most crucial and hardest part... :dizzy:
My weekend is going well. I was on track Friday and Saturday. My blow out came on Thursday. Feeding Frenzy day... And how. :o But, I shook it off and got back OP. Calories for Friday were: 1109. Saturday's were: 1328. A tad higher than I normally shoot for, but by no means out of bounds. I am anticipating a good day, today. I hope that everyone has a great, OP Sunday. :D |
I was on plan for friday, but wasn't able to exercise. I was also on plan Saturday, but this time only did some light walking. I'm at 1800 calories/day, and have so far lost 6 lbs since Wednesday which has been a delight. :carrot: I need to get on plan with the exercising mostly. I did allow myself some ice cream on Saturday by saving some calories back. Today I'm getting ready to Turbo Jam for the first time. Good luck everybody, and I do believe that our first step is to hold ourselves accountable. I'm glad to be here to support and be supported! One day at a time!
|
Here I am, I've been thinking about my promise to post all weekend! I did pretty good yesterday and oddly, I don't have much of an appetite today. Normally I struggle with hopeless grazing all day on Sunday cause I stay home and don't do much of anything!
Saturday: Breakfast 2 pieces of light wheat bread-70 calories 1 Tbs peanut butter 95 calories Snack 2 crabsticks 70 calories cup of grapes 110 calories (?) I have so much trouble figuring out how many calories in fresh fruit and veggies I was running around town during lunch Half a Medve's Grace sandwich (no clue the calories but it contained Cheddar and provlone cheese, tomato, lettuce, sprouts, cucumber and bell Kettle Sea salt & vinegar potoatoe chips 300 calories (yikes!) Dinner 6 veggie dumplings 230 2 crab sticks 70 1 cup of grapes 110 I went to a friends house and was starving when I got home so at midnight I had granola and trail mix 350 calories Without the sandwich that adds up to: 1,405 calories Hmmm, that's more than I would have thought it would be which is disturbing Sunday: Breakfast Cup of light chocolate soy milk 90 Serving of granola 220 1/2 cup blueberries 40 Snack Cup of light chocolate soy milk 90 It was a late breakfast and I kind of napped during lunch (I love Sundays!) So I had a mid-afternoon snack 4 rye crackers 200 calories 1 oz cheese 100 calories 2 plums 60 calories Calories so far: 800 It's about 6 pm now. I'm starting to get a bit hungry, but not starving so I will probably have grilled veggies (asparagus, summer squash and eggplant) maybe I'll do a salmon patty also, but that's iffy. Since I really need to add calories on today, I'll probably drink more soy milk (I really, really love soy milk). I did manage to walk 5 miles Sat. morning which is unusual for me. And that's it, I guess Saturday wasn't that bad, but it's still crazy how those calories creep on when I'm running around town. |
You people are awesome! My weekend didn't get much better. I didn't keep careful track. I didn't eat a ton of food - I've been doing better at stopping when I'm satisfied - but I ate out a lot and I know I went over my calories.
Here I am, the one who asked for the weekend accountability, and I didn't even follow through. I would really like to do better this coming weekend. Anyway, GREAT JOB Rain, Stacy and cdiem!!!!! You are all an inspiration to me. |
Let's keep doing this! I think I would have been more likely to get more than a sandwich for lunch if I hadn't known I had to post. I think my lack of appetite (which is sooooo unlike me!) is due to the crazy heat we've been having. Who wants to even turn a toaster oven on when it's 100 degrees outside!
|
I'm totally down for that! It helps me to know I have to confess everything.
|
confession time...
I had a weird weekend. I'm a single parent and I'm not used to being able to get away from the kid for any amount of time. But my step dad took my son on sunday which freed me up to go to my friends bar for a "bloody mary bar". so, I'm referring the yesterday as "bloody sunday" because I had two huge bloody mary's which I KNOW had way more alcohol in them then the usual amount...then...heres where it gets bad between 5 ppl we shared calamari, crab cakes and an order of crab and avocado dip. And then, here's where it gets even WORSE we went back to my friend parents house and had grilled blue fin tuna belly...super fatty...really fatty...oh gawd! and a white rice/brown rice blend...and deep friend prawns. More beers...a coctail...don't worry, I didn't drive I'm a bike rider, very anti petrol right now. But wow, that was the worst alcoholic weekend I've had since before I became a parent. And here I was earlier in this thread preaching about abstaining while dieting. Freakin hypocrite! Just smack me now! I didn't even bother adding it all up, I just know that I went from 189 friday to 192 today. *pouts* back on track. |
Ghost-don't be too hard on yourself. I think the most important thing we can remember is that anyone can have an off time, but it's making sure we don't get down on ourselves and quit. Yesterday I was on plan for counting and exercise and I felt great. I'm barely a week into my new plan, but I hope I can be just as supportive as anyone else! I do like this weekend accountability. Good job everybody! See you back next week.
|
As far as i'm concerned, we're all human. Wait until I get together with my best friend for a day. It's an all out food party day and I try my best to not have regrets. I figure if I eat healthy 90% of the time, I'm allowed one day a month to just go nuts. It sounds to me like you had a much needed fun day, so good for you!
|
Hey ghost - being a single parent, I think you deserve a party day every once in a while. We all do, but you gotta take 'em when and where you can!
Since cdiem suggested continuing with the reporting, here's my report for today. I had a good Monday! b- two slices ezekiel bread w/spray butter l- lean cuisine fish & pasta thing, one morningstar veggie bkfst patty s- another slice of ezekiel toast s- 1/4 c. chipotle peanuts d- TJ's mojito salmon, brown rice, salad (baby romaine, yellow bell pepper, dried blueberries, goat cheese, olive oil & balsamic) s- skinny cow Total cals: 1470 exercise: 30 min walk It always feels so good to be back on track. Tomorrow I'm going to yoga and planning to jog. :D |

I went and had ikea breakfast I gave the sausage and homefries to my husband but I ate the 2 small pancakes and eggs and crousont, lunch I had mr sub 6" turkey breast with ligh mayo and about 3 oz of orange pop until Ifelt guilty for having the pop so I threw it out dinner...3 slices oout of a large pepperoni pizza from boston pizza and a mini apple streudel thingy....surprisingly only around 1660 for the day but thats still 260 more then I am supposed to have :( |
I would love to be accountable next weekend. i am totally mad at myself for this past weekend I had 7 (SEVEN) beers Saturday. Ouch!
|
Its that time of the week again...
*lifts glass of ice water* Heres to behaving ourselves and doing something productive instead of stuffing our faces. |
well tomorrow I should be ok I work in the morning then go to my moms in the afternoon. Sunday however I have a 50th birthday party...we shall see ow this goes. The good thing is I have a week until my vacation and I really want to lose 5lbs :( so this will push me not to screw up
|
It was bad today and I'm not even sure why. I took today off work, so I think it counts as part of my weekend.
7:30 Granola and blueberries-260 calories 11:00 Matzo & hummus-just bought it today so good! 150 calories? 1:00 Partha (like flat bread with lots of fat) 268 calories Sauteed veggies 100 calories Smart one ice cream 170 calories 6:30 (This is where it gets bad!) Unagi 632 calories Sauteed veggies 100 calories Smart one ice cream 170 calories Grand total of 1,850 calories which just kills me! |
breakfast: blueberries, milk and tsp of sugar
Lunch: 3 eggs and a bit of low fat cheese Dinner: 2 really small chicken breasts and a salad with 2 tbsp fat free caesar, a bit of low fat cheese and lettuce snacks, 2 fat free puddings total 1220 YAY ME |
I am staring down the gullet of another weekend. And I am hoping I have the strength to hang tough. There is a bag of popcorn on top of the fridge, calling to me, every time I pass by. It isn't good, healthy, lo-cal popcorn. Oh. No! It is luscious, yummy, finger-staining, fatty cheese popcorn.
So, I also lift my glass of water and wish you all a healthy, successful, OP weekend. :D |
I'm in. My entire week is usually undone by Sunday night. Hopefully this will keep me on track
|

|
Hi...my Friday was on plan. Always grateful!
Here's my Saturday: breakfast - cottage cheese, 1/2 banana, pnb toast snack - latte lunch - 'fried' brown rice with egg white & veggies, eggplant, cauliflower snack - cherries, crackers and Laughing Cow Cheese dinner - fish, salad, roll, veggie snack - oatmeal, fruit, almond butter. Tonight - I am going to the MCL cafeteria with my mom and aunt mackie. They have fish, salad, veggies, bread - so I think I'll be OK. I won't let those desserts jump on my tray.:dizzy: |
Hey, everyone. :D I hope that your weekends are going well. So far, so good for me. After a rough day on Thursday I am nicely back on track and hanging in there.
I hope you all have a great, OP weekend. :carrot: |
This is great! Knowing I was going to post made a huge impact on what I chose for lunch today.
Breakfast-same old same, granola and blueberries. Lunch (out at a local resteraunt) A 'funky monkey' sandwich. Peanut Butter, honey, bananas, almond slices on raisin bread. Mmmmmm A 12 ounce salad that was mostly, spinach, olives, artichokes, tomatoes and garbanzo beans (I think that's what the beans were). Also mmmmmm...but I do realize it was high in fat, I created it myself and put on all the ummy stuff I don't let into the house. Also a couple of tablespoons of blueberry-pomegrenate vinagrette. (I so can't spell) It was higher calorie than I would have liked, but considering other things I was looking at, such as a black bean burger and fries or the pesto sandwich drenched in cheese, it was darn good. I also had a rasberry flavored lemonade at the local bookstore. Again, I avoided the smoothie that I really, really, really wanted. I'm home and still full and exhausted, so I should be safe for the rest of the night. I also biked to 'town' and all over the place for my usual Saturday stuff. I am too tired to mapquest it all out, but I'm guessing it's 25-30 miles total. Woo hoo! Oh! And I avoided, the old, I can get the fries cause I biked here, trap! :carrot: You guys all sound like you're doing great! Let's keep up the hard work! Thanks again for the thread, it really helped me do better today. :smug: |
Saturday on plan-just walked-no TJ
Picked a whole bucket full of blueberries and some red raspberries today. Froze several bags of the blueberries. I see several dishes involving them in my future!!! B-boiled egg-yolk removed, 3 pieces turkey bacon, 1 banana S-90 calorie bar, skim milk L-Veggie Pizza, salad, mango S-cottage cheese w/flax seed D-veggie pizza, grapes, celery w/PB |
cdiem4994- what is hummus like? I am "afraid" to try it. Some of the recipes in my Turbo Jam booklet list hummus.
|
I think it depends on where you buy it. The stuff I just bought is canned, I found it in the kosher section. It's a spread, very smooth and rich tasting? I'll have some more today so I can report better! I've had it before at our local organic store and it was much thicker and chunkier.
I'm vegetarian so I'm always looking for things with protein and I know hummus is good for you which is why I bought it. I was wild over it when I had it, I thought it was delicious. |
Hello. :) Looks as if everyone is hanging on over the weekend. Way to go. :D
So far, so good, for me. I had a serious moment of temptation, last night. My husband got gift cards for In and Out burgers. Yuuummmm.... Loves me some In and Out.... And I really wanted him to use them today. But I told him to just hang on to them and we'll use them another time. They are good for a long time, so there is no hurry. :D I had a good, OP day, yesterday. Calories topped out at: 1299. A tad higher than I really like, but certainly well within my loss range. So, I am not going to sweat it. :D I hope that everyone is having a great Sunday. OP and loving it. :carrot: |
I did well last night until bed time. Then I started lurking around the kitchen. hmmmm...I should have known. I ended up overeating at that point. I've been thinking about it alot today - why. Part of it was that I wasn't feeling good...feeling some physical pain from arthritis, etc. And...I've been a little 'sloppy' with my following thru with my food plan as planned. I always say that it's OK to change some things - as the day progresses. But, lately I've had so many changes to the original plan that it's almost like 'grazing'. If you know what I mean. So, I've determined that having a daily plan gives me structure and sanity with food and I need to adhere to my plan more often than not.
Today's plan: breakfast - egg white scramble with ketchup, pnb toast, 1/2 banana snack - latte lunch - tuna salad sandwich on lite bread, cauliflower and parm. snack - yogurt and cherries dinner - 12 grain pancake, sf syrup, cottage chesse, boca bacon, cherry tomatoes snack - oatmeal, fruit, milk Have a GREAT day. Treat yourself as well as you'd treat a good friend. |
Ugh. My parents came to town today. I knew this so I ate really like before they got here.
Breaky granola/blueberries Snacks waiting for them (they got here soo much later than I was expecting) 3 crab sticks and a plum Flat top grill around 6-Round one Flavored Lemonade Chinese yellow noodles seitan flat bread Veggies such as asparagus, spinach, mushrooms etc. etc. Sauce (round two-this is where it all went wrong) Brown rice and more veggies (see above) Really, when I write it all out, it's not so bad. The flatbread and noodles were high in calories, but I went with the lower calorie sauces and the rest is just stir fried veggies which are great. I felt bad cause I was full after the first bowl but went back for more. *sigh* |
I was OP yesterday. Started using FitDay yesterday, and that was an interesting experience. I was at 1860, so not bad. I shoot for 1800, but have been below calories for a few days in a row, so I really made an effort to get up to the calorie mark and actually went over. I would have been under, but I got hungry around 10 and had a 90 calorie bar. Did my Turbo Jam 20 minute workout yesterday. Moves came alot easier to me.
