calorie conflicts

ok so here is my problem .. around 5-6 days ago ? ( cant remember lol! its been a busy week ) I started a "diet" my plan was to walk 15 minutes ( all uphill ) a day and work up to 30 ... quit drinking soda ...and cut my calories to 1200 .... I can't complain because I have lost 4 pounds so far BUT I decided to up my calories to 1400 because I've read that you should leave your self room to drop calories if your weight loss comes to a stall ... the calorie counting is killing me .. the first few days I was going under like crazy ..I just mis-calculated I guess and was so worried about going OVER .... It usually winds up being a total of 600-1000 ( last few days total 850:?: .... now I cant get in 1200 without feeling as if I'm going to vomit I eat a 150-250 calorie meal and I feel stuffed for hours... I know this is NOT healthy and I fear if my body goes into "starvation mode" I wont lose ANY weight at all or I will gain it back.... maybe this is not the case? I don't really know ..my question is , how can I pack in more calories without making myself "sick full"?? .. I mean obviously I know I could do it but Im trying to do it with healthy foods:broc:.. it would be so much easier if I could just go get a cheeseburger and frys and call it a day :hungry:

There are plenty of ways to get additional calories without adding volume (so you hopefully won't be overfull).

Nuts and nut butters are healthy, full of good-for-you fats, and will bump up your calories.

Avocadoes are another good for you, calorie-dense item.

Cooking veggies in oils will also add more calories, and will help you absorb the fat-soluble nutrients in the veggies.

If you are eating nonfat dairy, try switching to low-fat...another simple way to add calories without volume.

Plan out your meal for the day using the alloted number of calories. Have it written out and check off the meals as you eat them, this saves you from either eating too much or not eating enough. It only takes a few minutes to plan your menus for the day, once you get used to it.
