Not so much a trigger food but I have definitely learned that if I don't eat any protein with breakfast I eat ALL DAY LONG!
This morning I had frozen waffles w/SF syrup. Big mistake. I nibbled crap all day long. :nono: |

Pretty much, if I take one bite of a sugary baked good or a white flour pretzel or a piece of warm french bread, I immediately want another bite and another bite. I pretty much manage my cravings by trying to avoid my trigger foods as much as possible (ie none in the house, no nibbles of free cookies at work, etc). Strangely, peanut butter is okay. Some cold cereal is okay, some isn't - I had a bad incident with a box of Kashi Go Lean Crunch that I still recall as Crunchgate 2005. |
I can't have cookies of any kind in the house... I simply CANNOT eat one or two... just can't do it...
Really, any baked goods are the same way. I can sit in my house with bags of chips, pretzels, etc etc etc.... it's the chocolatey, sugary, baked goodiness that kills me... mmmmmm |
when it come down to no control it's planter's cocktail peanut's, I crave them, OMG i drool just thinking abt them, lol.
|
I remembered too that one of mine is cheesy bugles. I got them one day and for some reason just couldn't put the bag down, still like that  If I want them I have to take out a portion and throw away the rest. Yum

Chips, it doesn't matter if they're "baked" or "light", calorie wise it's not going to do me any good if I eat a whole bag of chips in two days.
Peanut Butter is also a trigger for me, I found this out when I made peanut butter granola bars. Not a good idea. Basically, nothing chocolate, nothing peanut-buttery, and no chips allowed in the house... |
I pretty much stay away from most junk food but sometimes "healthy" stuff can be a trigger for me.
I absolutely love dates and especially love the chopped dates that are rolled in coconut that they have at Trader Joes. Sure, they're healthy but insanely caloric!!! The only other thing that really weakens me is tortilla chips!! |
White frosting on white cake. I cannot stop picking at it and will take all of the flowers off of a cake. I don't really care for the cake part. Now we buy ice cream cake for birthdays because I won't mess with it. :o
|
Anything really starchy or sweet gets me on the carbo-train, and it is SO hard to get off again! Also, as much as I love nuts, and know they're full of omega 3s and other good stuff, I have a hard time limiting myself to a small handful. Especially with cashews... YUM.
|
lyterae ~ If you eat a lot of those light or baked chips do they cut your tounge? I have found that I can stay away from chips for the most part because I end up getting little painful bumps all over my tounge. Easiest way for me to stay away from them :dizzy:

nutty bars and cheese puffs. especially nutty bars. i could eat an entire box in 2 days.
|
home made cookies and brownies!! with vanilla ice cream... or milk (and I'm definitely not talking about skim milk..)
also, I can make meals out of cheese and crackers.. |
For me it is white cake with white frosting--like birthday cake or Pepperidge Farms coconut cake. If I buy one, I know I can easily eat in one or two days. So I never buy them, unless it is my birthday!
There are certain cookies as well--if I make home made chocolate chip cookies, I have to eat a lot (and the batter!). But if I just buy a bag of small oatmel cookies to have with my tea, I can easily limit myself to just a few a day. |

There's one cereal I forget what it's called but it is like crack for me and I can't buy it. It's shaped like an O and it's made out of oats......lemme look it up....Cracklin Oat Bran thats it. I love that stuff, I seriously could finish the entire box in one day it is that good.
