Question Counting Calories & the Daily Plate site...

I just joined the Daily Plate but not sure what to do. I did do part where you put in your weight and stuff. Not sure what to do next. Also how are the boards in there? I know I've been warned about WW boards.

Thanks for any and all advice.

If you click on the 'My Plate Calorie Counter' you can start logging what you eat and keeping track of your calories.

I really like posting on TDP's message boards, they move a little slow sometimes but other than that it's nice. I don't use their "plates" or any other tools though.

I hate their boards in comparison the here at 3FC. There are so many uninformed people there doing crash diets, losing weight in a very unhealthy way, giving out horrible advice to others, and they all seem so stubborn and won't listen when you suggest a healthier alternative. Their mods are not nearly as awesome as the 3FC mods, who watch over everything like hawks! They end up with advertisement posts (spam) sometimes that don't ever even get deleted. And even some of their mods don't really seem all that helpful; granted, they try, but I just like 3FC SO much more.

I do track my food at TDP instead of Fitday now, though, simply because of TDP's huge foods database, which includes restaurants and brand names of foods. You just have to be careful sometimes that the foods you choose there have all of the information recorded accurately for what you are actually eating. For example, sometimes people only put the calories in a food and leave everything else as 0, or sometimes there will be 2 entries for the same food but with different numbers because on is a US food and the other is a UK version.

And the exercise portion is very GENEROUS. If I did treadmil for 30 minutes I put in 20 maybe. The boards are not helpful. Tracking is pretty cool though. And the new pie chart they just rolled out is nice too.
