Default New

Hi! I am new here. I did calorie counting years ago and kept the weight off a long time. After having my second child I can't seem to get motivated to loose the 30 lbs I need to loose, and she will be 4 in soon. So I need to get with it. I plan on eating 1350 calories and working out 4 to 5 days a week. I am 5'3" and weigh 158. You guys seem to give great advice. Does this seem like a good starting point? Thanks!

Welcome! I found this site, started lurking for a while and started counting calories on January 1st. It has really been working for me, I love it!

I don't know what happened to my ticker but I have lost 11 pounds so far

Hi Tyler

Welcome -glad you joined us. The number of calories is personal so this is something you will want to play with. 1350 is on the low side where I would start but is certaintly not a bad number.

Give it a try. If you eat lots of high quality food you should be fine. Pay attention to whether you feel like you have enough energy to exercise because that will be the telling sign if you need to adjust the number up.

Hi Tyler. I am new here too, just joined today in fact. I have been counting calories since Jan.1st. So far I have lost 7 pounds. I am eating about 1200-1300 calories a day and I am doing walk away the pounds for the abs - 3 miles - daily. I'm only 5'2" and right now I weight 163. Good luck on your weight loss journey.

Your starting weight might be a bit low, but why not give it a try and see how you do. You are about my height and weight, and that is about where I am now. But, I am 50, in menopause and have a sedentary job. I started with higher calories and have slowly worked my way down.

A couple thoughts. Add a multivitamin to insure that you are getting your nutrients. I love using Fitday to journal everything. It really helps me stay on track
