Thumbs up no heartburn last night

I just realised i didnt have any heart burn during the night. I knew my horrible eating habits were to blame.Im amazed that i saw results the first night. Yesterday was so easy. I cant wait and see how many calories i eat today. I use to count calories years ago but then did the slimfast thing and then the zone and always gained back the weight. I plan to stay at this for life. I was truly scared my heartburn was going to turn into something serious.I feel great and i know i really need the support i found here yesterday. Thanks everyone

I had the same reaction when I started on a low calorie routine, I would get heart burn at least 2-3 times a week and slept with Tums next to the bed. I started eating better mid December and started counting and exercising very strict as of the 1st of Jan and I have not had heart burn in a month at least. that alone would make this regimen that I am on worth the effort, I am dropping weight and have more energy and the heart burn is all gone so far so good! I am glad that You are getting benefits from your new way of life! keep it up and who knows where it may take you!

As Ever

Yep, I had the same thing happen! In fact, the only time I have heartburn now is if I eat the wrong foods in combination... such as, oily carbs. Pizza is just not a good thing... same for potato chips... I was taking Mylanta at night every night, thought I had GERD--but it's all cleared up now!

Jay

P.S. I just have to laugh at those ads for Prilosec, etc.--they show someone eating pizza or some other thing, and then having heartburn. And of course the solution is a pill. I think, "Duh! How about you don't eat that stuff??" But gosh, how would the pharmaceutical companies make any money if we all just discovered that eating healthy food solves so many problems?

I never had heart burn until my gallbladder disease a few years ago. After having it removed I was heartburn free for a few yrs. I was also about 40lbs lighter than i am now. I noticed as my weight went up so did the heartburn. It was to the point it didnt matter what i ate i still had it. Maybe i was eating to much and the food was sitting on my stomach while i was laying down at night. Who knows?? but i can truly say it sure felt good not having it last night.Im hungry already today and its still a few hours till lunch. I think i might share an apple with my the little boys i keep. For some reason my bowl of rasin bran crunch seems long gone.

That's awesome that you are seeing non-scale results so soon! Luckily, I never had heartburn, but my boyfriend did bad!

I find that cereal very rarely sticks with me all the way till lunch, so I take light string cheese and some bran crackers to eat at work, they keep me on plan and keep my stomach's hunger growls at bay!

I used to have to take tums almost every single day. Heartburn was something I never had problems with until I got to my highest weight and then I had it severely every single day. Once I changed my eating habits it stopped right away. It was such a relief (and less painful) to not have to deal with it anymore.
Keep up the good work!

Prior to my lifestyle change I had heartburn every single day/night of my life. I was living on Mylanta. I remember being a few weeks into my journey and realizing that, "Hey, I don't have heartburn anymore!"
