Default maintain?

Hi I just lost a bunch of weight that I would like to keep off and I was thinking of calorie counting to do that. I am now 120 and 5'6" and different calculators/people keep saying different amounts of calories. I put the same information in each lightly active mostly with 3 days a week where i am quite active. How many calories do you all think i should eat?
Thanks!

Hi!

The tough part is that all of those calculators are just estimates and you will need to use trial and error to figure out how much YOU need to eat to maintain.

What plan did you use to lose weight? If you can figure out how much you were eating while losing, and how fast you lost, you can start to add in calories from that to get up to your maintenance calories...

I would go with the calculators based on light activity. This would be your baseline calories. On days where you are much more active, you can "Eat Back You Exercise Calories". You will likely need more food to sustain the additional activity either way.

I agree with Heather - this is going to take some trial and error to figure out what specifically works for you.

on meeting your goal!! Have you checked out the maintainers forum here at 3FC? A lot of them are calorie counters as well.

I'm with the 2 posters above on playing with upping your calories (gently, mind you ) that you have been losing at. Logging what I eat has been KEY for keeping me honest (with myself).
