I've also cut way back on diet soda's due to the bad things I've read about aspartamine.
I actually tried to go cold-turkey a few weeks ago and intended to have NO Diet Coke's (I don't like Diet Pepsi's either cbmare, I mean, why bother?), but I found myself hunting down anything sweet to take its place. Since I do have a sweet tooth, and if one eats too much dark chocolate (even though it IS good for you), one ends up eating too many calories... So far, I've been too lazy to investigate reasonable sweet item calorie options.

(INSERT: I have to confess, I've been known to go into the kitchen and grab a few [SMALL] handfulls of chocolate chips from time to time.

So, I had to ask myself, "Self, which is worse? Eating sweetening things and sabotaging your efforts, or allow yourself a diet drink once or twice a week?"...so I've been averaging about 2 diet drinks a week. Also, I got some sugar free gum, which most likely has aspartamine in it (I need to check)...which kind of defeats the purpose of avoiding aspartamine.
I may try Diet Rite or one sweetened with Spenda. Thanks for the suggestions!
