Default What scale should I buy to weigh myself on?

I've been searching this forum for "best scales" & "Best bathroom scale" but am not getting any results to answer my question so maybe you all can help.

My scales are probably 20 years old. They are made by Everweigh and are supposed to last for life. But i've noticed that sometimes, i'll step on and it will say i'm 5 or 6 pounds lighter than I am. I step on repeatedly and it says the same thing. Then after another 5 minutes, I check again to make sure i'm not imagining things and poof....i'm back up to where I am supposed to be. They are digital scales. Anyhow...I think they are wearing out so i'm ready for new ones!

I'm not interested in the ones that measure water and fat. Just a good accurate body weight scale is all that I need.

Any recommendations?

I bought a Tanita that I've been pleased with... you plug in your age and height, and it will not only give you your weight but your body fat % as well. You can set it up for multiple users as well, and it runs on 2 AA batteries. it's a good product, but I don't always like what it has to say

I too have a Tanita scale. It sounds just like the one Loriannc has. I am very pleased with it. I find it to be extremely accurate.

I also have a Tanita scale. I know you said you don't care about body fat and all that - and my scale does measure that. But it's also just really good on giving me a consistent and accurate weight measurement. I've been very impressed!

I had a digital one, and the same thing happened to me. It was giving me a reading of almost ten pounds lighter than I was ... and I hadn't weighed myself for a few months. So I had no idea. I ended up running out to the store to buy one of those really cheap ones .. the old fashioned ones with the dial ... and I have to say it is very accurate as long as you reset zero from time to time.

I have been thinking about a body fat scale, though.

I find that digital scales are inaccurate for the most part, could be several reasons... humidity damages components, (if you keep it in the bathroom, steam = water builds up from Showering) batteries can be dying/go dead, **** you could even step on it the wrong way... I've just been totally unsatisfied with mine, so I bought an analog (the kind with the dial) and have never went back, there's no way for them to be inaccurate... as long as you set it at 0 from time to time.

Thanks everyone. I think I will have a look at the Tanita scales. I've heard about them before and think they might be good investment.
