I do eat them, not everyday but fairly often. I do not think they are unhealthy
I am a bit confused some of you say they are unhealthy but you eat them Why do you eat something that you think is unhealthy ? |
I like to bring them to work for lunch. It's sooooo much cheaper than eating out, especially when you can get them for under $2 on sale (not even using a coupon). I can remember which brand now has way more vegetables. I mean a noticeable amount more. :)

I know at Super Walmart the Michelina's brand are always $1.00.I like the fact that you get a pretty decent portion for under 300 calories (most entrees) and adding some veggies is only about 25-40 calories extra = :D

Has anyone tried the Healthy Choice Top Chef line yet?! My fav is the ravioli, chicken, spinach one! I'll eat 2 to 3 a week at work, if I don't take my own lunch. I just hate all the sodium in there. Makes me nervous eating them because I don't want to gain water weight. I use sea salt in a lot of my stuff too...hoping it cuts down on some sodium in take!

re:
Yep, I eat them every day. I tend to like them better than the other brands out there. The pizzas are especially good to me.

I eat them every single day for lunch. Not sure how I would function without them!

Any convenience food is going to be high in sodium, especially when you consider that the RDA is based on a 2,000 calorie diet, and most of us are eating less than that, so the sodium should be even lower.
However, it's a trade-off, and I don't have any health issues regarding sodium, so I'm not concerned. I do need the convenience, with my crazy life. It's not very healthy food, but you could do a lot worse. Mainly, it's a lot of processed, simple carbs, and not enough protein. I was on Nutrisystem, and there are a lot of the same concerns. However, Nutrisystem is generally higher in protein. It's hard to find packaged dinners that are as high in protein as Nutrisystem. Now that I'm off Nutrisystem, however, I plan to use Weight Watchers and Lean Cuisine a lot! I need the convenience! And the cost is reasonable. I do think it's best to make sure you're getting at least four servings of nonstarchy grocery vegetables in addition the Lean Cuisines, and some lean proteins like tuna or chicken. As long as I'm getting plenty of that, I think the frozen entrees are great. |
OMG!!! yes I did for a really long time! Ive moved around to other healthy brands to! I really like Hormel because it doesnt have to be refrigerated. and i was having problems with people stealing food at work.
But yes I love lean Cuisine! Also try campbells one serving soups, healthy choice non refrigerated meals. (in soup aisle) feels good knowing theres someone else liek me out there. :) |

I work 11 hour days so I am exhausted when I get home and the last thing I want to do is start prepping for dinner. So it's easiest to pop in a Lean Cuisine and I bulk it up with some spinach, mushrooms, and other greens. That gives me a portioned meal with a lot of varieties to choose from, and the extra veggies help fill me up. While the food is heating up, I pack my worklunch for the next day (which is usually not processed, so it's a time trade-off.) There are people who disapprove of not eating more wholesome meals, but I tell myself....I'd rather eat a portioned frozen meal than stop by McD's drivethru for dinner. We have to make do with what we can to help us succeed. |

Yup! I have five boxes in my freezer of michalinas flat breads (BUY THEM THEY ARE SO GOOD), which I got on sale for 1.00 each. I'm probably going to have one tonight with some spinach or salad on the side :D

I agree completely! It's another example of "don't let the perfect be the enemy of the good." |
I have nothing philosophically against frozen dinners (or any food, really), but I don't like the taste. I find that mass-produced premade meals always taste a little "off" compared to home-cooked foods. I work from home so don't have to prepare any lunches, and the meals I cook for dinner are very easy and quick.

I used to eat the frozen meals on a fairly regular basis for lunch. Now that I've been counting calories, I've been cooking more, so I generally have different leftover options to take for lunch. They work great in a pinch.
I have always tried to avoid the ones with meat in them. You just never know what grade of meat they use in those meals! |
I used to eat them everyday for lunch...until Weight Watchers changed their plan and some of my favorite ones went up to 8 or 9 points. I personally don't think it's worth that many points (even though my point allowance also increased, I think it was more of a mental thing for me lol). Now I just make extra dinner every night and bring the leftovers for lunch, which has been working great for me and I find that I get more food for the same or less points.
But I do love some of them, they are so tasty!! Don't get me wrong, I don't think there is anything wrong with them...they just don't really do it for me anymore, I'm too greedy now lol. But I would gladly eat one if I were in a pinch! |
