My fun fact for the day...

  • I can eat my body weight in watermelon, and still have half my calories left over for a day.
  • LOL. That is a nice fact.

I recommend that you *don't* try to eat 150lb of watermelon though. You'd probably wind up in a coma, or at least, spitting seeds through your ears
  • Lol. That would be a very expensive proposition! I love watermelon, but I don't think I could eat that much.
  • Hey I think watermelon is cheap right now! What a nice sweet treat! But ... er maybe just a few slices

  • I can't image how much time you would spend on the potty if you did that. That is so FUNNY!
  • Lara~where on earth do you find all the cute graphics?

I like watermelon, but not that much!!! I'll buy one of the mini ones (seedless) every once in a while.
  • That's the most fun fact I've ever heard!...Too bad I don't like watermelon
  • That is interesting, but fitday lists 155 lbs of watermelon as having 22,498 calories.

Calorie King lists it at slightly less

Watermelon is one of those foods that I always eat too much of and I inevitably gain when I eat it.
  • Ya, I have to agree with ennay. Watermelon is relatively low in calories for its weight, what with it being sowet and all. Still, it does have a fairly good amount of sugar in it. Those things aren't made with Splenda!

I would really like to know from where this fun "fact" orginated. Because I really, really love watermelon, and would be delighted to find out that fitday and http://www.thecaloriecounter.com/ (4518 grams= 1 10 pound melon= 1385 calories according to that link) are wrong and I can eat alot more of that stuff.

So please prove me wrong. Please?
  • Watermelon is around 50 calories for a 1 cup serving, depending on what calorie site or book that you use.

When you eat it, normally you would measure it in a measuring cup, rather than weigh it-so take that information for what you will.
