Angry Just used FitDay for the first time . . .

. . . and I am not pleased by what I see! I thought I was eating 300-400 less calories than I actually consume. YIKES!!

I just started with fit day this weekend. I think I prefer the spread sheet I used for the first 10 weeks better in some respects. I have my own little nutrition booklet made in another spreadsheet and foods I eat get entered in as I eat them and then I just have to copy and paste in the future. I also have a sheet with recipes so it totals the information and I can copy and paste that too. It totals my calories for me but I also have it set up so I can see my defecits and overages. I also run a weekly summary so I know where I stand for the week too. I don't think I can do such things with fitday.

You can see you deficits/overages by looking at the report that graphs your calories consumed vs. calories burned. You can also see a weekly overview by choosing the past week as your time period for the reports. I have entered my recipes into my Fitday as custom foods--everything I make or eat that isn't already acurately in their standard database gets added as a Custom Food for me. That way, if I have it again, it's already there in my list to just click on and enter the amount I ate.

I think with Fitday, you either like it or you don't. No need to try using it if it just doesn't work for you. It was slow to use at first for me because I had to keep entering new foods, but now that I've got everything I eat regularly logged in as a Custom Food, it's a breeze.

I had the same reaction when I started weighing and measuring (some of) my food! My measuring cup and my eye see two VERY different things.

Fitday- or any other reliable methode of traking your intake- can be a real eye opener, can't it? Better to know what's going on 'though, than beating your head against the wall trying to figure out why your nutrition plan isn't working On the other hand, if it is working and you were eating 300-400 higher than you thought you were, you just got a big present!
