Question How did you guys decide?

Hello everyone. I've not posted in this forum before but I'm calorie counting again as it's the one method that I can't mess up and it usually suits me.

I'm really struggling with how slowly the weight's coming off this time. The last time I counted (and the time before) I lost between 1-2 lbs per week. I now seem to be averaging 0.6 - 0.8 lb per week. I have 1400 a day - 1500 if I'm starving and I exercise 5 days a week which is very good going for me. My body fat monitor is not telling me i'm gaining muscle or water so that's not it. Also my cut off point seems to be around 158 so I'm always the same sort of weight when I go on a diet - it's not like I was way heavier last time.

How do you decide how many calories to eat? I've tried 1200 but ended up bingeing because it wasn't enough. I also worry that if I eat too few now i'll be eating virtually nothing when I have to cut back to get rid of the last few pounds.

I'm really up for changing my life but this tediously slow loss is beginning to demotivate me. Any comments/suggestions would be very gratefully received.

Thanks.

Hi Susan. No I don't - I have no idea where or how to get one and to be honest it looks really scary. I write down every calorie faithfully including flavoured water, a piece of chewing gum etc and I don't exceed my calories unless I'm absolutely starving when I'll go to 1500. I just don't get why it's so slow. I do not gain weight if I stay under 2000 - even if I don't exercise so I'd have thought that 1400 - should equate at least 1lb a week and that's ignoring the cardio.
