  • Hey- sorry about this I entered week 5 incorrectly 233.4, should have been 230.4. I have been loosing 1-.5 pounds a week with no gains. The week 6 number is correct with a weight of 229.9. Hope this is not a problem, my bad.
  • Wow, it looks like more people are gaining than loosing lately....what's going on?
My goal this challenge is to never post a gain. So far, so good, but still got farther to go.
  • Good evening RED TEAM!!! We've all been so quiet lately. So, I wanted to pose a question to you all...

What is your motivation to lose this weight and get healthy?

For me, my motivation is looking at all of the things that I can't do as a fat chick. My husband and I wouldn't be able to ride together on a roller coaster because I don't think the seat belt would fasten. I can't shop in cute clothing stores. I get tired playing with my daughter. I honestly don't want to be that person! I want to be fit and healthy. i want to be able to keep up with my energetic 3 year old. I want to be able to go to amusement parks and not be scared that I'll be too fat for a ride. I also know that my job is going to be eliminated next year and I want to look and feel my best when I am plunged back out there into the job market. I want to be noticeable for my skills, not my girth.
  • my motivation is 100% health. (dont get me wrong, looking great is an awesome bonus but i think ill still have clothing issues when im smaller too because I am picky and dont like bold prints an patterns, my style is more sporty) I have pcos and the NUMBER 1 way and most effective way to combat that, so be heathiest, to not have to deal with popping cysts, facial hair, irregular periods, increased risk of every form of feminine cancer and a whole host of other major medical problems is....weight loss. I am also losing the weight so that when I am ready to get pregnant I will have a sandgrains chance of doing it because I HAVE to be healthy to have a kid. An to be honest, the risk of endometreosis and fallopian pregnancies at this weight scares the **** out of me.
  • That's an excellent motivation to get healthy Dreamer! You go girl! I know you can do it!
  • Courtney, Good Question!

The real, honest turning point for me was when my grandfather fell ill and passed away in February. He was always fit and active running almost every day and taking long hiking trips with friends up into his late 70's. His whole life he was the picture of healthy living and was in fairly good health all the way into his 80's (always taking his daily walks and going to physical therapy) I took a long look at myself those last weeks he was with us and realized that I have never been the picture of health. I had never taken proper care of myself and had always been overweight. So I thought, how long will I have, how long will my husband and I have together if I don't start taking care of myself. Life is too short to spend it overweight and unhappy with yourself.
I want to be happy and healthy and generally do more with my life.
  • Hi I just posted the results Blue Team won this week.

Congratulations to Dog Rescue Mama and to celrae for you win on the Red Team.

Congratulation to the rest of the Red Team as well. Way to stay with the challenge.
  • Kelley - That's a great experience! Seeing a family member who is active and healthy can be a real inspiration. Imagine how awesome you are going to be at 70 and 80!

Okay team...the Blue Team whipped us again. They've won 4 weeks now and we've only won 2 weeks. We need to REALLY step it up this week to take the weekly prize back! We can't make this easy for them! Who's with me?
