Blue Team WOSC Week 15 Chat
G'morning Ladies!!! I am happy to see so many signing up for the summer challenge already! :) Hopefully it will give us all a new spark!
Lets have a great week this week! :) |
I'm signing up for the summer challenge for sure, but I want to use my final weight at the end of this Challenge. :)
Woohoo - lost a lb this morning!! Hopefully I'm back on my way to 152. :) Got a diet plan for today. Need to stick to it so my calories are in line. Also planning on a workout today, just don't know which one. I'm debating between 30 - 40 minutes of yoga or a 30 - 40 minute gym session. Hm, I guess it depends on how lazy I am (home - yoga, outside - gym). ;) Nothing much to report here except almost all of my bell pepper plants died in the heat while I was away. I'm so depressed. I'm saving the only one left and hoping it grows and gives me some peppers. Blah. I've been growing these guys since November so they really do feel like my children. Oh well. Life goes on. Have a good Monday, ladies! |
Morning ladies it's a snowy crappy day here. I am so looking forward to spring and now snow for the next 3 days. Urg.....
Have a great day everyone. |
Congrats to Jessica88, mageorge, fukuokafan, ars and the rest of the blue team! Lets keep up the great work!
|
Crap, just crap! Why do I LOVE BEER so much? 3 pounds up lol, beer belly wanting to make an entrance.........................I LURVE my beer! Why can't I have my cake and eat it too? When are they going to come out with a no cal beer?
That being said................:D How is everyone doing? Quiet in here lately,I hope everyone isn't going off the wagon at once, let's all try and put it all together again. |
Hello gals. I had a great day today. Went for a long walk this morning, did some gardening this afternoon and ate well within my calories even with a small cupcake thrown in. I'm hoping to lose some of last week's indulgences of which I don't know the damage. I wouldn't get on the scales this week as I didn't think I could take the bad news. So I'll know by this Saturday if I did horribly last week if my weight is still up by then...
I'm hoping to spend more time outside in the yard during the next few weeks so that'll keep me out of the kitchen. But the funny thing is, while I was pruning the rose bush I could see the little bright green dandelions pushing up through the soil and instead of viewing them as a weed I was wondering if there were enough growing to make a green salad or to cook with dinner...sigh...everything revolves around food. Where are you all? We don't have many of us left so we have to stick together as a tight little ball of weight loss energy. Have a great evening, gals. |
Hello ladies,
Sorry I've been MIA, been down about Seth as well worrying about my other boys. Mom's have such a hard job!!! We're at the coast today and tomorrow (Mon and Tue) and I know one meal will be waaaay off plan at the buffet in Florence. But I'm looking forward to the summer challenge. I've been in a lot of pain too lately, both back and knee, will see the doctor this coming Thursday so maybe some relief in sight. Love you all and trying to hang in here. Dora |
Hello ladies! I hope you all are doing well today.
I am definitely planning on signing up for the summer challenge, I've marked it on my calendar...I'll sign up closer to the final date to get an accurate starting weight as I'm sure I'll be getting rid of a few more pounds by then. Nothing much to report, just a normal Monday! I've got terrible allergies right now. My sinuses are totally stopped up and everything that can water is watering. Yuck! |
Hi Ladies~
Had a really good day food wise and exercise. I did the LS 3 mile Slim & Sleek this morning. I'm remotivated and recommited!! Can't wait for the summer challenge too!!! ((( Dora ))) enjoy the coast!!! Talk to ya'll tomorrow. I work, but should be on late afternoon. Have 5 boxes of books at one store and 14 at the other. :dizzy: |
TOM is here....I'm cranky and sore.....but food wise I'm doing good and exercise DH, youngest son and I went geocaching again today for a couple of hours.
|
Morning ladies! Just want to pop in and say have a wonderful day... we are short staffed again today.. i really hope the summer wont be like this.. we are getting busier each day and have no reliable subs... agh! lol o well...am giving it to God and praying for a solution! Have a great day everyone!
|
Congratulations to Jessica88, mageorge, fukuokafan, ars for being our biggest losers and to everyone else on the blue team for hanging in for the whole challenge.
Sunnigummi: did you end up going to the gym or staying home to exercise yesterday? WTG on the 1lb down. Hope your pepper plant comes back to life again. Mercy03 - I have no idea what that is like I really don't like the taste of beer, never have. I drink one on occassion if it's really cold but don't like the after taste. Have you switched to lite beer....would that help at all. Besides we all have one thing (at least one) that we will not be able to give up... so do a couple extra crunches for the belly and call it even...lol retiredone - It's nice to be on point calorie wise and still get a cupcake in too. I love cupcakes and have wanted to make some or a cake to practice my decorating skills but am scared to make the icing to practice with. I can get rid of the cake at work but I love the icing there might not be any left to put on the cake. I have to wait til I see a lower number on the scale to make me say nope....not worth it:) I haven't tried dandelion salad but I have heard it is very good. Enjoy your time outside. Still snowing here:( Doragone - I'm sorry you are still feeling so sad just keep on going everyday and things will get better. I hope you can find joy at the coast I love to listen to the waves it just seem to make everything else melt away for me. I find great peace in that sound. I hope it brings you some of that same peace. I hope your back and knees feel better soon that will help everything else as well ars - I hope your allergies clear up soon nothing worse than not being able to breath properly or see for that matter. Make sure you sign up for the next challange you can always just go in and adjust you weight just before it closes so you get a more accurate weight. That's what I did otherwise I may forget to sign up. Catsgetnhealthy - I love doing the WATO dvds I haven't done the 3 mile slim and sleek is it a good one? Does it show you the miles all the time or just once in a while like some of her others. I think I would be able to push harder on them knowing how far into the workout I was at all times. babygrant - feel better soon is the sun shining there that could help make you feel better. I have to look up online what geocaching is I don't have a clue but I am glad that you are enjoying it and it is something you can do as a family. CapeBretonChick - I hope you can get some staff there is nothing I hate more than working overtime in the summer because of staff issues. I have had to do this the last 2 summers and I don't want to do it this year as well. Summer is a time to be outside and enjoying yourself. Here is to us both being able to do just that. Well I woke up in a bit of a funk so just laid in bed for a bit. I have to work late today. When I got up I thought well maybe I'll step on the scale....1lb down. Let's just hope it holds til the weekend. I am having coffee and then off to the basement for a workout. Have a great day everyone. Sorry if I missed anyone. |

I am back on track though, went to fat club last night, life is returning to normal, so I expect to have a good weight loss next week. As for the extra crunches for the beer, I'll take you up on that lol! |
Evening ladies~
I tell ya I don't know why work sends me a box count when it doesn't even come :censored: close. Had 10 boxes at the first store and 20 at the second. My legs are killing me from standing/walking on the cement floor. Normally it doesn't bug me, but today it just did. But I did see the new Leslie Sansone bootcamp workout, so I'm going to go pick that up tomorrow. can we say dvd junkie. This morning I did walk off even more weight, it came with a weighted belt, and you can feel it!! It's a 2mile walk, well it's 2- 2mile walks, I did the fast 2 miles this morning. Bigmid~ Yes the slim and sleek has the walk clock, a lot of her newer dvd's do now. I like it as I take my heartrate with it. Once the weather starts to warm up I'm going to start walking outside, probably in the evenings. Will alternate evening walks with my belly dancing dvd. :belly: I have a problem with my right knee, so doing Leslie's dvds, walking outside, belly dancing, and riding my exercise bike is the way for me to go. I also like the biggest loser dvds for more strenght training, as I can modify those, can't do jumping jacks. Did that on Jillian's shred dvd, my knee popped, and the pain was just omg awful. So I tend to stick with Bob's workouts. Love the yoga dvd!!! Mercy~ doesn't MGD have a 64 calorie beer? I know I seen a commercial for that beer, just not sure if it's MGD or Bud. I'm a wine drinker. Only one type of wine, Lindeman's Shiraz, it's Australian. That's why I stalled last week, drank a huge bottle through out the week. Well the boys are home from wrestling practice, so I'll talk with ya'll tomorrow. Have a wonderful evening!!!! :grouphug: |

Bigmid - I went out the day before yesterday. I knew I would skip if I stayed home especially since I had skipped Sun because I was tired. I felt SO good after running on the treddie. It's nice to feel those muscles burn! Yesterday I did yoga - made it a little further than I did last time and I'm really enjoying it! Going to add maybe 5 more mins tomorrow.
Mercy - I gain like crazy when I have carbs and I love them so it's always a disaster. I try to control it and no matter what, I will gain at least a lb the next day so I try to stick to non-carb sources of food. It's hard, but I just keep thinking about how wonderful it is to be smaller and that renews my motivation. I'm at 153.8 this morning. It's not dropping as quickly as I thought. I really hope this is some muscle that's coming in and not fat. GAH. I'll just keep going with the workouts. I've been thinking about easing into strength training 2-3X a week and doing cardio the remaining 1-2 days. I need some muscle on me. I'd also like to look more compact. :) Have a good day ladies! :D  |
Morning everyone I hope you all have a great day.
Mercy03 - I think I'll join you in the crunches my belly needs some TLC. What is fat club? Catsgetnhealthy - Thanks for all the info on the dvd's I really need to look into more of her dvd's I really like Leslies workouts, belly dancing dvd is it any good...I took lesson before but don't remember any of it. So tired today but have to go to work and then workout tonight so I hope some energy finds me soon. |
Sunnigummi - We posted at the same time so I missed you glad you had a good workout. I love the strength training part of working out not so much with the cardio but that's what I reallly need at my size.
|
Hello ladies. I woke up to a snow covered world this morning. It's all gone now though and the sun is trying to shine and the temperature is rising a little. I did get out for a walk and got caught in a snow squall for a few minutes. I won't get any work done in the yard today though because it's too wet.
Bigmid, I love the icing on the cake too. I almost have to have my mouth wired shut when I'm doing a cake. I have a wedding cake to do this summer and I'm thinking of seriously of duct taping my mouth shut when I do it. I love mashed potatoes and I found that mashing them with low fat or ff sour cream and a little skim milk really gives them that creamy mouth feel that regular mashed potatoes have. I use butter flavored popcorn salt instead of butter. I usually only have 1/4 cup for a serving at about 60 calories. That's my tip of the day. |

I am taking a vacation week starting tomorrow, so I might start a new exercise thread like a crunch competition for us.I am staying home for the week, so I have a good opportunity to get myself back on the exercise track. |
Hey blue girlies! I'm just popping in to say hi! I'm OP here, still battling allergies and hoping those will go away soon. They usually aren't this bad, ugh. I hate taking meds for them. Hope all is well with everyone.
|
Morning Ladies
retiredone-duct tape..lol I just might have to try that our snow is almost gone to so hoping to walk outside this weekend. Your mashed potatoes sound yummy...never thought of popcorn salt in them before. Mercy02 - okay I have heard of TOPS just not fat club..lol I will join you in the crunch challange. Have a wonderful week off I need one so bad just to get back on track but no staff. Make sure to do lots of nice things for you too. ars- good for you for staying on track, I hope your allergies clear up soon. Take care. Well not much new with me exercising everyday not losing and weight and seem to be getting flabbier......how is that even possible.? Have a great day everyone. |
Hi all!
Bigmid - I have "flabby" moments even though I'm exercising. The weird thing is, I see muscles during my "off the wagon" days. It's odd, but I think we're more critical of ourselves when we expect things to be happening. Like right now, I'm doing yoga and my tummy muscles are KILLING me so I expect a flat tummy, but look it's still poochy. Le Sigh. Maybe it's just me though. I hate looking in the mirror and seeing flab. Just wish I could get on a treadmill and run for a couple of hours and dissolve my flab bags. Haha. ;) ars - sorry to hear about your allergies. The area I live in was COVERED in pollen last week. Everything had a green layer on it - gross! Supposedly, the winter we had (can't remember if it was too short or too long) has made all the trees bloom at the same time so all the pollen is being dumped at once instead of in stages. :hug:Feel better! ---- Yesterday I just wanted to be at home doing my best imitation of a lump. I really, really forced myself to go the gym and walk for 30 minutes. I managed to walk for 15 mins and instead of doing a slow jog at 4.2 mph, I upped it to 4.4 for 10 mins with a run for 5 mins. Somehow, as soon as I start working out, I'm really energized to do a lot. It's just getting to the treadmill part that takes a lot of effort... :) Today is yoga day! Moving it up to 20 minutes, maybe more. Was down a lb to 152.6 this AM. Woohoo! Hope I make it under 152.3 to show an overall loss. :) |
Hey everyone! I've been away forever it seems!!
I was away on holiday (and put on a tonne) and am now in the middle of exam **** again, so am only popping in to send my best wishes before I head to the gym. Hope everyone is doing well I am feeling very fat and sorry for myself, but staying on track for the last few days at least! |
:carrot::carrot:2 pounds swooshed away!!!!!!:carrot::carrot: Almost back to normal:D
@ Bigmid................ Today is the day I am going to keep track of crunches, will help the bloat, no? |
Hello people. I've been on plan all week except I didn't get in a walk today as the weather was awful. Might get on the bike later on though.
Good girl, Mercy. I'm hoping for a few pounds this week, too. My cousin used to go to TOPS years ago. She said they'd have their meeting and weigh in and then sit down and have a big lunch. Needless to say, she didn't lose anything. I've thought of joining TOPS myself as there is a very active group here in town. Have a great weekend and stay away from the cookies (or whatever). |

I would recommended this group to you MS. Retire. |
G'morning ladies! Poppin in for a quick minute...to share some news! I joined my first Zumba class this morning and had a ball! It runs two times a week, Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. Also I have set up an appointment with a trainer who will help me put together a program, exercise and nutrition and help me stick to it. She is amazing, she is the Zumba instructor as well and she is just this huge ball of energy.. love her to pieces all ready! Her rate is more then reasonable as well.. $25 per hour/session.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far :) |
:celebrate: Happy Birthday Sunni!!!!! I hope you have an amazing day!!! :celebrate: :bday2you: |
Hi everyone I hope you are all well. I'm off to the gym to try a Zumba class this morning I hope that it is easy to catch onto and I don't look like a total fool. But even if I do as long as it is fun. I will see how I feel after and may stay for the iron reps class as well.
Sunnigummi - I too wish I could just get on the treadmill for a couple hours and it would all melt away:) Great job on not being a lump yesterday. Congratulations :celebrate: Happy Birthday Sunni :bday2you: dayoneagain - Welcome back, how did the gym go yesterday? Mercy03 - Okay.......crunch time it is. retiredone - did you make it on the bike yesterday, that was quite a little winter blast you guys got yesterday. Is it gone now. CapeBretonChick - That is quite the dedication to go to the gym that early. What time was the class? I hope I have as much fun as you did at the Zumba class. I think I should look into a personal trainer as well as nothing seems to be getting this weight off of me. Well I'll post back later if I can move after the classes. |
Does 4 hours of gardening count as exercise? I'm whipped, good day today, worked my butt off ate right.
Hope the scale cooperates.:D Happy B-day Sunni:bday2you: Dayone- Glad that you are back:) Ars- Hurry up and get better:) Bigmid- How did the workout go? Good on you for getting back on track:hug: Angela Just a :hug: Thank you for your support. @ECHO WHERE ARE YOU? |
Morning all~
Just popping in quick before I workout. Did good this week, worked out everyday!!! :carrot: And yeah Mercy gardening counts as exercise!! I'm doing that today myself plus mowing! The sun is finally out here, been gloomy grey that last couple of days. Weigh in I was up a pound, tom, so that does tell me I have a loss when it's all said and done. Can't believe we're going into our last week. I'm hoping I get very close to what I put down as my goal. I'm just happy to have lost weight these last few weeks. :) Well I better get moving. Have a wonderful Sunday!!! |
Hey Mercy!! sorry for being AWOL! i've been looking for a car for the past couple of weeks and totally immersed in research and reviewing and looking at cars. my parents want to buy me a car as a congratulation present for passing my phd :D so been looking for a used car.
i havent had a chance to do any exercise for the past couple of weeks and gained a few pounds. but this week going to make time to exercise no matter what :) hope everyone has been well and catch up with everyone soon! thanks for the shout out Mercy :) and good job on the gardening! and nice to see that the virtual weigh in is working for you. thats great :) |
Hey ladies... I had to use a freebie today.. grr... I ate some crud this week and must be retaining crazy water! I am sure some of it is actually a gain but yea..most has to be water lol..as the scale is showing a 5pound gain! sighhhhhhh but on the up side I am on my way for my first meet with my personal trainer at 130 this afternoon..yay! :yay: she said to come prepared to move haha wish me luck! O and @Bigmd, the Zumba class was at 930am so wasn't toooo early haha
hugs  back at ya Mercy girl! |
Hi Ladies just doing a quick drop by I'm in a bit of a mood today as nothing I wanted to do today is turning out.
Mercy - WTG on the 2lbs and yes gardening is exercise CapeBretonChick - hope it's fun with the trainer and she'll knock the pounds back off in no time catsgetnhealthy - WTG on the exercising everyday Echo - Welcome back and good luck with the car shopping....I know from experience it's not as fun as it sounds. There is a lot to look for and to get the price and car you want. Well the Zumba class yesterday was fun but the big thing was I got to the gym....SpaLady and am a lifetime member only to be told that my membership is no longer valid. So that was the start to my day. They let me in for the class but that's it. I then went shopping as was gone (and walking) pretty much the whole day. Then I walked to subway (2km) to get supper. So lots of walking yesterday. Now today I was going to color my hair and the box doesn't contain all the stuff so phoned the store and all the boxes are like that so don't know if I should use it or not. My days are not starting out so good. Oh well at least the sun is shining. I also bought a new workout dvd so must try that and also borrowed 2 from the library so some new routines may just shake things up a bit. |
Woohoo!! I'm back to 198.5!! Had gained up to 204.5. Got depressed. Blah. Then realized it was bc of dang TOM!! Tom is gone now. Yay!!! So looking forward to losing again.
Congrats on ur Phd, Echo! And Mercy, OMG, yes gardening counts! Love doing it too. :) Hiya to Angela and Bigmid and Cats, and Dayone and Sunni and Isabella and all the other Bluezers still with us!!! :cheer3: I've been OP ever since PMS left. :encore: Thank you, thank you very muchhhh. :D I went today and got my hair cut, first time in over a year! I mean, so busy I havent even had a trim! Scary! Was in bad shape, split ends, uggh! Cut off about 8 inches! LOL. But feels so nice and soft and airy now, it's still shoulder length too so can wear it in a ponytail, etc. It has some layers now. Good time to cut it since it's gonna get hot soon! Oh and we are definitely on the list for a baby boy. If he is 0-7 months old we are ok because he won't be in Meadow's grade, but the year behind her. So 7 months is oldest he can be. Can't wait to get the call!!!! They said we are allowed to take twins and triplets too. So pray by some miracle they call us with more than one baby so we can still have 5 or 6 kids but be done adopting sooner! One time I did get a call for twins. 6 months old, diaper rash was so bad one had to stay in the hospital. But I already had a foster baby and couldn't get 3 at the time because of agency rules. They'd be over 3 yrs old now. :( Well, hope you all have a great OP day tomorrow! Hugs, Selina  |
Wow. I am sorry I have been AWOL. I have been gardening like crazy. This semester is going to kill me. It's over Mother's Day. I just want to be done with it so bad.
I WI'd today at 185.6. That's 75 pounds lost (woo!) and my BMI "just overweight" number and breaks my plateau of the last 3 weeks (I had been depressed and PMSy and TOM something horrible). I'm just trying to be "sortof good" on my diet and physically active until the semester is over. I just don't want to have diet blowout, and I need to get gardening stuff done so the garden will be ready to plant out. We bought a rototiller and let me tell you, that is GREAT for toning the arms! :) I have all my seeds started in cups and jugs on my deck, and have planted lettuce, garlic, onions in the garden. I think next weekend I will plant broccoli and other things like that out. Selina, I'm so excited for your family. :) Mercy/Cats, of course gardening is exercise! You should see the muscles I am getting in my arms, and even definition in my waist and back that I KNOW is from gardening! Crazy! Angela - a trainer! you'll have to tell us what he/she says. :) Bigmid - I have been eating at subway a lot lately. What do you eat? |
Hi everyone well I just checked in on the weigh in thread there is alot of movement there WTG everyone. I thought I may have a chance this week to see my name up there but I can't compete with the numbers some of you are pulling. It boggles my mind how some of you have lost 30 - 40 lbs so far. What are you guys doing and is it healthy because that is the most important thing in reaching and maintaining your goals.
Soon2BeFitChick - WTG!!!! welcome back to onederland, I bet your hair is very happy for the TLC you gave it today. Good luck with the baby.....or 2....or 3:) weebleswobble -WOW those are quite the numbers I started in August too and just made it to the 40lb mark. It sucks that it's going this slow but I guess at my age the skin needs all the time it can get to go back in and not stretch out so I guess I should be happy about that. I eat the ham subs and I do keep the cheese on it then toast it and load it up with veggies. Do you like the South Beach Diet??? is it hard and do you think that is what is helping you lose so much??? |
