These are my current measurements (had to use ribbon and a straight ruler, LOL). Most of my weight is in my hips and thighs and I'm not busty (C cup)...I'm always a size higher on the bottom when buying clothes - that's a real PITA!

Chest 40.5
Waist 46.5 (across belly button)
Hips 54
Thigh 31.25
Bicep 15.25
Calf 20.75
Neck 15
Wrist 7.25

I'd hazard to guess I've lost 3 inches on my hips since starting, my pants are a lot looser. I should have recorded these sooner. Better late than never!

@Kris - Way to go with not smoking!

ONEDERLAND!!!!

Wooooo!!! That's awesome, congratulations!!! :cheer2:

I have been exercising way more than I ever have done before and eating sensibly. Somehow I have managed to put on 4lbs this week????

This doesn't make any sense. I can actually SEE a positive difference in my body shape (getting my waist back), so I'm not sure how I could have put weight on??!?

Realistically, I must be eating more than I think. I'm going back to strict calorie counting.

Sorry for letting everyone down. :?:

mageorge 02-05-2010 06:24 AM

Congrats, weebleswobble, for reaching onederland! Keep up the great work!

Did Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred last night for our last chance work out...omg...I am so sore this morning. And we only did level 1! That was a great workout (although I must say for the record, I HATE jumping jacks!). Keep your fingers crossed for me this morning...we have our weigh in at school. I think I am down at least 1 pound. Altogether, the two schools have lost almost 140 pounds! Hope everyone has a great Friday, snow on the way here! ;)

weebleswobble 02-05-2010 09:24 AM

dayone, it's just water.
mageorge, 30 day shred is rough. :)

Yep!!!! The scale is just a number, but seeing a different in the way your body looks, that's WONDERFUL!!!!!! No need to appologize, your number next week after the water is gone is going to be incredible!

dayoneagain 02-05-2010 11:18 AM

I bloomin' hope so!!!

ONEDERLAND!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS! WHAT AN ACCOMPLISHMENT!

Soon2BFitChick 02-05-2010 12:38 PM

Good morning Beautiful Bluezers!!! :bubbles:

How are you all today? So far I'm good. I did wake up with the same headache I had when I went to bed. :( I am going to go take something and lay back down I think. :( Who am I kidding, the girls are still asleep now but in 10 mins when Christian leaves for school, they'll wake up! LOL!! :yikes:

I am so happy you guys posted measurements too! It's neat to see that my bicep is an inch and a half from being the same as Isabella, who is in her 130s! Weird to see how some of us match in some spots and in others are completely different. I think I'm down half a lb this week. I exercised yesterday a little while watching TBL, I love that show. :)

Did you all watch that Oprah with Dr. Oz about diabetes? I watched half and hope to finish it today. It's very informing. I didn't understand alot of it. Glad they did the show. I don't want to get it like my dad did. :( So I've been cutting way back on my sugar and trying to move enough every day. :woops:

Weebles!! Woohoooo!!! :woohoo: Onederland is a great place to be!!!! (Just like 200ville is great when you are entering it from 300city too!)

Mageorge, omg the shred does kick ur butt! :kickbutt: I'm scared to go do it again~ I'm such a wimp. :faint: But I sure need it! Good for you, if you are sore you did good! :cp:

Dayone, you can gain that in fluid and muscles swell when they are worked out hard. Wait it out, if you restrict too much on cals, you could slow your loss more. You didn't gain 4 lbs. No way. :)

shcirerf, sorry you are going thru stuff. So glad to see you here tho! It sure helps me to come talk to everyone here.

ars, what's a PITA? :?: :)

Nixmom, I sooooo know! Why aren't they home yet??? Uggh!!! Thanks for caring.

Hiya to Mercy, Diva, Bigmid, Nella, babygrant and all of u other ladies!!

I hope y'all have a great day, I started writing this at 7am! LOL. Then went back to bed, I got to! yay!, and headache is about gone now, took tylenol, so here I am at almost noon, finishing this. :)

Hugs!
Selina

Echo 02-05-2010 02:08 PM

hello my lovely blue team members!!

took some time out to catch up on the personals :)

update from me. i made a plan on thursday to get real serious about losing the weight in february so the plan is to eat 1600 calories and burn 1000 calories, half the calories by doing a workout video (p90x or jillians) and then a second workout session with moderate to light exercise bike and walking.

yesterday went well and was already rewared by the number on the scale this morning :)

i'm aiming to lose 0.3lbs a day. so that i can reach 151 lbs by my birthday which is end of feb :)

today i've already eaten my calories, so for dinner i will have a fibre drink.

i did p90x kenpo X and burned 360 calories. so i have 640 calories left to burn by the evening. i just had a late lunch, so will wait 2 hours and then hop on my bike and ride it whilst i watch a dvd. hehe but take walking breaks during my bike riding - cause otherwise my butt gets tired! hahaha

i'm expecting TOM on monday :S

>>>>>>>>Bigmid wrote = Echo - don't worry about the 2lbs we have all been there and it will be gone next time. How are the driving lessons going?
Thanks Bigmid! i appreciate that! and you're so right :)
thank you for asking :). i start my driving lessons on march 2nd. im excited, currently i'm studying for my driving theory exam which is in a few weeks time.
sorry to hear about your neck, i hope your headache has gone away.

Quote:

Sunnigummi>>>>>>Echo - I know it's easier said than done, but don't worry about the 2 lbs. We all love you just the same! Plus, since I showed a gain, I'm with you all the more, haha. Yeah, my boss is a turd. This is the one that I trusted and thought had my back. Guess he didn't. He didn't tell me he said this but it's obvious because the guy spoke to me over the phone and was really interested in getting me up there. Then after he speaks to this guy, "oh looks like you haven't finished, contact me when you do." Um, what? Sigh. Oh well, I'm applying to others in the meantime. I really want this lab though. Seems to be a good fit. Whatever happens, happens right?
aww thanks Sunni! i appreciate the support! i hope you managed to sort things out with your boss and that you got the job at that lab! good luck!!

and yah i know what you mean whatever happens, happens. i got my first rejection for my application for volunteering work that i wanted to do on the malaria project at the natural history museum, BUT on the plus side they were sooooooo nice about it! said some very nice complimentary things about my application and said they will consider me directly for future vacancies. so i'm happy that i applied and now i'm on their radar so to speak
:)
Quote:

she wrote to me - "We were impressed by the calibre and standard of your applications but sadly only had two volunteer positions to offer in this instance and these have now been filled. Should a similar volunteer vacancy arise within six months we will contact you directly to see if you would like to be considered.

May we take this opportunity to thank you again for applying and for your enthusiasm for Museum and more specifically our 'Behind the Seen' Volunteer Programme.

Please do monitor our website carefully for more opportunities here at the Museum -we hope to get you involved yet"

what a nice way to be rejected eh! :)

Dora wrote >> Echo - Dear sweet Echo, so good to see you here. Thank you so much for your personal attention and for asking after me, you are too too sweet. I'm sure you will do just fine in your driving test. If anyone deserves to advance, its you. Sounds like you had a pretty good time with your friends, but like me, it lead to weight gain, but as retiredone said, its temporary. We can overcome, especially with our good hearted effort. Thanks again for caring.

aww Thank you Dora - you are so sweet to say such lovely things, I REALLY appreciate it!! thanks for your encouragment regarding driving :)
yah i totally gain weight easily in friends/family company.

After catching up on all the posts since I was last here, I had mixed emotions. I was sorry to hear so many were struggling and that some had gains, but I felt better because I too have a full pound gain this week, so I didn't feel like the lone letdown, you know? I have been comfort-food-eating, stuffing my grief, which of course, logically, I know is not going to help the "problem". I know to accept that I am grieiving and its okay, but old habits die hard. I am reading a really good book, that for some unknown reason - I bought months before Seth died. It's called The Heartache No One Sees by Sheila Walsh. It is like she is sitting right with me and talking directly to my issues. I'd recommend for any grieving person, and I have to believe God directed me to buy it when I did, because I had no problems before this . . . no heartache anyway.
I'm not sure if I'm subconsciously doing what Diva said, adding stress by being in this challenge . . . could be. But I'm willing to keep it a part of my goals for now. Maybe it is too ambitious at this time in my life, but if I could make some progress . . . I know it would boost my spirits. Just like, we will be paying off our mortgage this year, but it will be a bittersweet reward because it will coincide with the 1 year death date, but I'm not going to set that goal aside, so I press on. Life is never boring.
Dora that is completely understandable! dont worry about the gain at all, and i cant imagine what you are going through but i'm glad you're finding comfort in a good book. i love books, they are like companions that you can take with you everywhere and they are always there. :)

Selina is so right about how if you look at your weight fluctuations over a long period of time, you will start to realise that you gain when you eat certain foods, or go over your calories, or when you're expecting Tom. i love weighing myself everyday its the only thing that keeps me on track!

Selina i hope your dad is getting better. and that is really frustrating that they wont let you know about adopting the boys, sometimes i wonder why they make it so hard! good job on maintaining, despite all the stress you're under.

you're so welcome Thinner!! and wow those are great achievements you posted. congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mercy wrote: >>>>Awesome day today. I had my consultation from my Colonoscopy today and well......... Yah!!!!!!!!!!! I don't have to see him for 5 yrs(not long enough if you ask me lol) My biopsy came out clean and no sigh of crohn's and minimal divertulosis, so I can pretty much eat a high fiber diet with no consequences.
Mercy - OMG thats awesome!! i'm so happy for you, what a relief!

aww thanks Mercy missed you too babes!!

and i'll join ya on the uptake on the fibre. i put 2 teaspoons of psyllium husks in water, and some apple squash or orange squash , leave it for abit, and then drink it through a straw. when i use orange squash its like im drinking OJ with bits ! heheh its not bad at all, and helps me to feel fuller. when i've gone over my calories!

babygrant wrote >>Echo - I totally agree with you that we need to think long term. I always loved the quote "It's not a sprint, it's a marathon!"
hehehe thanks Babygrant!!!
i noticed you dont have daily weigh ins anymore on the food thread, did you find it too stressful to weigh yourself everyday?
oh and omg i cant beleive a subway cookie is that much, thats CRAZY!!! good for you for adjusting your dinner calories.
ps keep meaning to tell you, your avatar picture is so nice and dreamy!!

shciref, sorry to see you go, good luck with everything, and wish you all the best.
- i read what you wrote, i'm sorry to hear that you feel you have to drop out of this challenge because your hubby wants to spend more time with you. i hope you manage to talk to him about how you need time for yourself and that maybe the two of you can agree on time spent together. like someone i know, they had similar problems and they agreed that every friday would be "date night" and they specifically set aside time to spend quality time together. i hope maybe you can try talking to him and see if you can come to some sort of compromise.

I'm proud of our team, even though I dragged you down with a pound, some of you are doing fantastic. Hope I can come through soon. If nothing else, you're all lifting weight off my chest, which is immeasurably invaluable to me at this very moment. Thanks.

aww we're very lucky to have you Dora!! you inspire all of us with such amazing courage and determination to carry on. you remind me of Abby from biggest loser last season, she went through tragedy but was so strong and fought her way back. you really are an inspiration.

VERY nicely said Mercy! and agree 100%!!! this week has been much better for me personally too! :)

Selina thats a great idea to measure yourself. i will have to do that too, but maybe not just yet, as im feeling bloated cause expecting TOM on monday.

dayoneagain - I just had a big long rant here but it's actually made me feel better. I don't want to bring you guys down with me so I'm getting rid of my overly self-indulgent bits.

Basically, I have to accept that this is going to be a slow process because I've been a greedy sod for the last 23 years. So if it takes a year to lose this weight so be it. I have to stay focussed and not be so shallow and narrow-minded.
i heard writing it out can really help! and sharing with us, we're all here to support you! so dont worry about it

i know what you mean, i got frustrated with myself on thursday cause i kept OVER EATING my calories, and throwing out all the good work i did with my exercise. so i said to myself, enough is enough, i gotta get serious and take it ONE DAY at a time
and one day DOES make a difference and in the end it will all help in getting to my goal weight, just gotta keep at it everyday..but you are NOT a greedy sod!! so dont beat yourself up.
i love food myself! if left to my own devices i would just want to eat all day long! :p:p

CONGRATULATIONS WEEBLESWOBBLE on entering ONDERLAND! thats awesome :celebrate:

dont worry dayoneagain! its water rention from exercising, if your muscles are sore from the extra exercising, they retain water to repair the muscles. dont worry about it, you will see a big whoosh soon enough!

mageorge, congrats on doing level one of 30day shred!! and thats good that you're sore that means you worked hard!! well done :)

i did 30day shred last night too :)

and to everyone else that i missed out, a big  and good luck everyone for the weigh in on sunday! you all are AMAZING ladies :) :grouphug:

Hehehe. My sister is a photographer so we get family pics taken quite often. :) I had to crop my hubby out of the picture beause he hates having his piture "floating around on the internet".

Doragone 02-05-2010 05:09 PM

It's always nice to come see you gals, you're all so sweet and encouraging to each other and to me. Well, just when I decide to get serious, I gain another pound and get a horrific sore throat with accompanying headache. It's a beautiful day, but all I want to do is get warm and lay down. I'm getting stronger about Seth, and, a big bonus for me, I found some recordings I made of the boys when they were about 10, 12, 13 (Chris, Josh Seth - Clay had moved out, he was 18). I enjoyed them so much, and it didn't make me sad, it made me happy. Going to work on getting them onto CD so I can share them, and save a copy in the safe with all my other cherished photos and things.

So, I'm good, I'm bad, I'm up, I'm down, but . . . . I'm still here.

Love you guys

Dora
